I am needing a solid secure tonneau cover. Not something you can stick a knife through to see what is underneath. I have narrowed the search down to either a G4 or a trifecta extang or possible something similiar????.

What I would like is something I can
1.completely remove in about 30 minutes and have full access in my truck bed for huge bulky items like furniture moving.
    2. access to the front of the bed after unlocking the compartment. Just no fun going after something the ends up in the front of the bed.
    3. when in place have security in the worse end of town all night without having to place a rottweiller underneath all night.
    4. Easy to install by myself or maybe some extra help. limited drilling if any.
    5. Lowest price possible with great customer service. recommendations helpful.
    6. Let me know other potential problems you have dealth with and how??

Am I dreaming or doesn't any buddy sell one like this??????
Maybe just having a NIGHTMARE IN STEAD???????

Undercover tonneau cover. It's just under 50 pounds. Can be removed within minutes, even with one person. No drilling required. It's just one big piece. It has two locks that both lock with using a key(it comes with) or not(turn one or both knobs and it's secured, but not locked from someone from getting in). You can still use the tie downs. I'm not sure what the price is in american. I've never had to phone customer service because I've never had any issues with the product. I've had it a year and no complaints what's so ever.

Thanks for the quick reply jw1983, I am leaning more to the 3 fold and 4 fold solid covers. Sometimes I am away from home and it is more convient for me just to fold up the sections and load up the items to make room for the large bulky item. Take for example just yesterday I was driving home from work and stopped by this Garage sale and bought this nice dinning table for $25. Huge oak table and chairs in great condition if I had the solid 1 piece cover I would have to drive home take off the cover thendrive back and load up the table and chairs then unload everything and put the cover back on. with the fold up I could just fold up the space I need load up the unload and fold to cover flat. makes sense to me.

    Experience and comments welcome

Get a retractable one (kinda the same concept as blinds) and leave instructions for burglars who might want to cut it and just don't leave valuable things back there

I had a Snuglid sl on my truck for last three years. I loved the look, security, and water tightness but I nearly lost all utility of the bed. The Tacoma bed is only 18 inches deep and that limits a lot of things. I also lost the use of the tie down system. I sold it a couple weeks ago and decided on a Fold-a-Cover Elite G4. I looked at the undercover flex and bakflip as well. I would rarely have the need for the full bed open and when I do, the fold-a-cover comes off with 4 bolts. I did not like the fact that the bakflip rested against the cab of the truck. There is still cab to bed flexing and that will damage the paint over time. The main thing that sold me on the fold-a-cover is the separate locking mechanism from the tailgate. I am also putting in a electric pop n lock for the tailgate. If the tonneau cover lock or the tailgate lock fails I can still gain access to the bed without tearing things apart. The fold-a-cover also looks the best out of all of the folding covers and offers easy access to the front of the bed. The new non-adhesive rail installation allows for the perfect adjustment of the fit. Good luck with your choice.

5100's all around, OME 887 with 1/4" spacer, icon 3 leaf aal. 255/75/17 BFG KM's on 4runner pro's. Rigid led pods. Debadged and tinted.
I have the Bakflip G2, and love it. I had one on my Titan also. They can be removed in a couple of minutes, with no tools, or just folded up out of the way.

Only thing is you will need a locking tailgate handle, but after that you are all secure. You need one to prevent tailgate thefts anyways.

Check out the Roll-n-Lock. It's not going to fit into your cheap category, but I enjoyed it.

it may not fit every need of yours but, the undercover tonneau covers are awesome safe as a tonneau can be and can support over a 1k pounds on its surface.

x3. They are indeed pricey but worth every penny. It fits like it was an OEM product that was made specifically for our Tacomas.

    Hello sandjunkie,
On your Fold-a-Cover Elite G4 have a few questions for your experience:
    1. Does the G4 use the tacoma side rails or just part of them or can I still mount items to the side rails????
    2. Can you share how much you paid and if a discount is available???( You can send me a private message if you like)
    3. So I just need to remove 4 bolts to completely remove the entire cover. Was it hard to aling up to the bed to get a great fit???
    4. I have heard about the pop n lock that uses the key fob to release the servo and unlock the rear tailgate. Was it hard to program your key fob??? Does this replace the black tailgate handle and use the same camera??

    THANKS A BUNCH

    1) just part of the side rails. You can still use most of the side rails.
    2) I paid 755 from the factory store with a 2 year warranty. There is an offer code right now and you can get it for $730.
    3) 4 bolts and the cover will come straight off. The side rails stay in place so it will re-align easily. Initial alignment is pretty easy with the new side rail installation without adhesive.
    4) no programming of the fob is necessary. Just tap into the same wires that unlock the doors. Tailgate handle and camera is not touched. It's all internal to the tailgate.

G4 Elite is a nice product and I installed mine by myself. No drilling required and alignment was straight forward. Having done that I can tell you it would be easy to unbolt if you wish to access the entire bed. What makes it great is that once installed and aligned, alignment is not necessary upon re-installation. The locking mechanisms are very handy. So far it feels well made and cover does not rattle or make any noise when driving over rough roads.
