What's the best one out there? Looking for aluminum or hard plastic. Perfer the hard plastic so it wouldn't dent. Any ideas?
    To many out there
    Thanks

I just bought this one today. Hopefully have it in a day or two. Saw it at the WeatherTech store (they sell a rebadged one) and it looks really slick. I had a TonnoPro on my F150 and it was water tight but kinda cheap. Spent a little more this time.

20181207_084600.jpg I had the industrial strength (contractor grade?) Bakflip on my F150 for a little over two years. It's a good cover, my only problem with it was that the latch hardware started to rust pretty quickly. Up here in NNY they salt the roads and we get a ton of rain and snow, so rust is gonna happen. Guess I expected a $900 cover to have better hardware, but if you live in a more normal climate then it would last a very long time. On my Tacoma I got a Gator bed cover, it's vinyl with an aluminum frame. Cost less than half of what my Bakflip cost. Since the Taco can fit in my garage, I don't need a cover strong enough to hold 18 inches of snow, I just needed something to keep most of the rain and leaves and stuff out of the bed. Oh, one thing the Gator came with that the Bakflip didn't was weatherstrip for the tailgate...helps keep water from coming in past the tail gate. With my Bakflip, rain and snow would always work its way past my tailgate, especially at freeway speeds. Last suggestion, if you live in a climate that gets lots of rain or snow, get a bed bag. I think I got mine on Amazon, it's essentially a big vinyl bag with weather-proof zippers that is big enough to hold several pieces of luggage or what not. Mine came with tie-towns so you can secure it in a truck bed without a tonneau cover, but since I have the cover I can just throw the bag in there loose and then put our luggage inside the bag. Comes in handy when you're driving through 5 to 6 hours of rain between NY and Ohio.

The BakFlip FX4 has hard panels that fold all the way to the vertical position at the back of the cab, something that the Toyota tonneau cover does not do. This feature came in handy moving a friend's freezer as I was able to secure it at the cab end of the bed with the tonneau cover secured in the vertical position. Also when the cover is flat and the tailgate locked, so is the tonneau cover locked.

I've liked my OEM one. Super quick and easy to take off..although it's not airtight.

One piece, foldable, rollable, or retractable? I'm in the market for a hard folding and mx4 is on the top of my list. Also looked at, lomax & undercover. How I would rank it based on research, Bakflip mx4>LOMAX Hard Tri-Fold Cover- B1050019>Undercover Ultra Flex. There's a few vendors on TW that will give you a good discount.

LoMax was also my choice. Didn't want bulky looking covers. It's a well engineered, low profile cover..... without any 'fluff'. It's pricey, however, it's worth it.

Here’s a picture of mine it’s full aluminum and can support over 400lbs and pretty tough

    3BCE6CC6-B4B9-4BB5-AAF3-113D40B8EBF9.jpg

It rolls up and locks in any position.
