Ok...today I was driving around and I stopped at a gas station. When I got out a guy came up and was like "Hey that is a sweet truck! I love it" and I was just like "Well thank you!"..He then proceded to ask me all the details of the truck...then he offered me 10 grand for it. I told him that I needed to think about it more, but I gave him my numer and got his.
I paid 7200. Its a 02 model w 170,000 miles. One small fender bender before I got it. I dont know what to do. I LOVE this truck and wouldnt go back the domestic way..and the idea of making a 2800 dollar profit is nice...I just dont know because it would be super difficult to find another to my specifications I think..I could pay off the loan tho and have 6 grand in hand if I do it tho...ugggghhhhh I dont know.. What would you do???

    - Billstein 5100's all around with OME 885 coil springs. - K&N Air Filter - HID Headlights & Fogs - Kenwood Stereo & Infinity Speakers - CB Radio, - Fog On Anytime mod - Anti Tailgate theft mod. More comming...
If you are going to look for another tacoma to replace this one, and it will be very similar to the current one, then why sell it in the first place?? If you think you can get another tacoma to your liking for under those 10K, then sure why not.. But you might have to invest time and effort into it.

You COULD also get the 10k, pay off your loan, and go get a tacoma similar to your current one from an auction (not salvaged or anything.. jst reposed or seized) for under 6k... That way you pay off your loan, and go buy one cash.... Just an idea.

If you go buy a new tacoma you'll have a larger loan and larger monthly payment than you do now....

Keep your truck. You won't get another one that nice with those mods for 10k.

    toy02yota,

Unless you have an "upgraded" truck in your sites, why trade and "suffer " through a search???

Yes ,a new truck would be nice BUT what is really wrong with the '02???

Driving a "nice" 2nd "Gen" is always going to get attention and offers ( my '02 has all of 50k on it ;) ) BUT why sell????

Good luck with your choices and DO NOT be afraid to just say no....your pix give away how much that Tacoma and its owner enjoy each other;).

that truck looks incredible for 170k by the way. has the thought of selling it and getting something else crossed your mind before the offer? i don't know, i would love to have a double cab like that.

Ok...How is contemplating a 2800 dollar profit naive? I think that anyone, reardless of age or "life experience", would at least give an offer like this a second thought. In all reality I probably won't sell it. But it is something to think about I think. Just because I'm young doesn't mean I'm ignorant or callow.

Ok I did some searching around on the guy who offered me the 10 G. His dad owns a logging company. The kid basically gets whatever he wants thru daddy. The guy owns a 07 duramax with a 6" lift and a 69 Camaro that has been professionally redone. I talked to his cousin (I go to college with him) and he said he was looking for a Tacoma to make a trail rig out of it. So apparently this guy is legit...

    1) You're gonna miss it when it's gone

    2) That Tacoma is in too good of condition to hacked up into a crawler (IMHO)

    3) It's your truck.

What are yall's opinions on the FJ Cruisers? I'm just trying to see how hard it would be to find something I like IF i were to sell. I kinda like them and I found a good deal locally. They just look kinda..eh soccer mom-ish when stock. I still probably won't sell my Tacoma...but still I have to look at the options IMO
