A pancake compressor can easily need 1500 watts... So can one of your most expensive to operate appliances; a coffee maker...whaaaaaaa? Thanks for another complaining bitch thread though. The forum just doesn't have enough of these.

You can use the outlet to charge an IPad while you search for a Ridgeline dealer. I heard they have a 100 amp bed plug and they are throwing out bonuses for tacoma trade ins!

The problem with our inverters (2nd gens included) is they have a square wave on the output. Most motors don't react well to being fed a square wave. If you want an inverter to really run anything (within the chosen inverters power range) you would need a pure sine wave inverter, and they are more expensive than the run of the mill inverters we have in our trucks.
Just remember to do your math when installing or changing out to a larger inverter. Some will require significantly larger wiring than stock. Stay safe, electrical issues are the second leading cause of car fires:bananadead:

    Certainly runs my 13" macbook... Which needs a whopping 60 watts @ 120vac. :)
You must own the wimpiest circular saw on the planet. Most require 7-8 amps once they have been started, more when they are loaded. You are not going to get that from a 3 1/3 amp inverter.

I've heard some folks on Cummins motors forums complain about some stuff, but if the inverter in your pickup truck bed is not powerful enough to run what you want you should have don't me research prior to or you make it better. Coffe pots? Laptops? iPads? Really? It's a truck.
