So your here talking about how people should drive into deep water because they are putting people at risk....

Meanwhile you do it with a tank at the tax payers expense? Am I missing something here?

There's a creek or stream there. How the hell does he know the bridge or culvert is intact, even if the water isn't too deep to get through?

If I was a LEO in soviet north kia russia i'd impound his truck for 30 days, suspend license for 160 days and have his behind sentenced to no less than 16 lashings, but not more than 32 in a public square at high noon

Myself is educated.o_O What I'm saying is that it isn't the likely scenario that water gets pulled into this dudes diff. I know it's possible and I know the science behind it. With the breather in working order and good seals it's just about impossible. You want to talk about 20 year old trucks then I have to say a diff breather is good insurance.
May I resume talking shit now?:brianr:

Someone answer me this please as I'm not one who has taken my rig through deep water crossings ...are the doors water tight? wouldn't the water start seeping in once the water got past the bottom of the door?

Your firewall isnt even water tight. As long as you are moving, water will tend to stay out, but not completely. Stop in that location and it starts coming in a bit faster.

Right on. Pretty cool that it made it back out. That's probably not the end of the story but none the less.

Lieutenant was supposed to mark the right crossing - he didn’t. We had to get across the River to meet our objective. Platoon Sergeant got impatient and ordered us across at a semi-reconned spot. He chose poorly because the engineers had dug a tank trap in the exact location he chose when the crossing was dry. Perfect storm of fail.
