So, I joined TW 5 days ago, while looking at a 1999 Taco. Didn't buy it. Stumbled across another one. Bought it.
    Now the fun begins.
In it's short, quarter-century life, it's been mostly in Wyoming and only had two front end collisions - one with an animal (probably a deer), and one with another vehicle. The owner at the time of the second accident kept it for another two years, so I'm a'guessin' it was mostly okay.
There is, however, an after-market front bumper and I can't find any identifying markings, so I'm hoping someone on here can help me with an identity.

There are a variety of other things on my agenda, like finding a hood holder-upper thingy, with grommet and clip, a left tail light, maybe some front side lights (I hav'em, but the lenses are kinda messed up), an intact console lid, and maybe replacement tires (currently, it has Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP, 31x10.5OR15LT, with a decent amount of tread).

I'm old and will never intentionally go off the road too far, so comfy all-season tires'll do me fine.
As I'm sure everyone who frequents these forums is aware, it's gonna be a never-ending, black pit of a rabbit hole, but it beats Parcheesi.

Apologies for the long-winded, first-ish post, but I'm just so giddy, don'cha'know.

Well now you gotta get the light bar.....

and the little flaps below the headlight.

And of course when you buy a new oem grill......you dont get an emblem.....they shake you down extra for that...
I guess some could opt for a Mercedes one or something....

So yeah.....welcome to the pit.....Congratulations.....you made it...

That does look like the bumper, but it seems to come with all the lights. Probably, the last owner didn't get around to installing the bar, and I haven't spent the time to track him down, yet. I'm really not hot for the bumper, either. I'm considering ditching it and finding an original, with the below-the-headlight flaps. If I do stick with the Transformer look, I won't be getting the light bar; at my age, I'm not allowed to be out after dark. I would go with a Batman emblem for the grill, though. Or maybe come up with a snazzy custom design and find a teenager with a 3D printer...
I'm reminded of a beat up Chevy van my brother had - he came across a BMW grill with emblem and wired it to the front of the van. As far as I remember, no one ever questioned the authenticity of his BMW van.
Of course, his other car gave him a modicum of credibility...

It was nice, but no Toyota Tacoma.

Anyhoo, I appreciate the info, so far, and look forward to picking the myriad of brains I now find at my disposal. But not the one in the kitchen sink..., the disposal, not the brain.

The listing for that bumper gives the option for lights or no lights. Selecting the lights option increases the price. Tow hooks are another option.

Ah, so I see... and "Yikes!", even with no options, the price for the bumper is almost as much as I paid for the truck. Well, in dog dollars, anyhow. Might be worth it to keep the bumper, if only to impress the uninitiated.
