I am going to say this in the nicest way I know how. You need to do more research before you buy anything. If you own one of Ivan's dogs you obviously have a penchant for the best bleeding edge kind of stuff. You live in Colorado, where they probably use de-icer on the roads, which will be BRUTAL on your Icon shocks. Go watch some of the 4wd action youtube videos, those guys are doing some of the most brutal tracks in OZ with nothing more than the equivalent of OME shocks/springs. Powertanks are grand but, you are most likely going to buy ARB lockers, because they are the best, and it would be way easier to have ARB on-board air with the 'sponsored by wifey' manifold.

Yah, although I don’t mind them as eye candy as they are pretty sweet. Here in the NE the rust would get to them. I typically store it in its case, well protected in my gearbox, pic below. That way I can clean and lubricate it after every use and it’s ready to go in a moments notice.

I also use the mounts for things like temp mag mounts for my CB when the guys don’t all have Ham.

As far as the bottle jack, I’ve never replaced the OEM jack with one that has a long enough stroke to get my truck off the ground after the lift.

Thanks for the input! Yes, Ivan creates stellar animals! Both of ours are amazing dogs!!! I'll look into other suspension options, thanks for that! I have been pretty much gathering my list based upon suggestions of others I've spoken with. I appreciate the direction!

Good morning overlanders! It feels like a $400K day today! I’m just sipping my $40 coffee, scrolling through my $1000 subscription of TW, thinking about overlanding. I know it’s a free site, but paying, especially overpaying, is part of the process, & telling you all exactly how much i paid makes me feel significant. As far as overlanding, i know absolutely nothing about it & i’m not at all interested in learning. It just seems super awesome so i’m going to do it. & I’m ultra cool... I paid $99K for my stock TRD Offroad without the tech package & have about $250K(cash) in mods upcoming. My favorite so far is the $160 cushioned cup holder so my $300 Yeti rambler can ride in comfort. I purchased a midget online for $10K to change flat tires & fix suspension components that might break on the trail. He fit’s perfectly on my $5K roof rack. Waiting on him to fix things is taxing, but my fingernails stay clean. What’s a socket wrench anyway? I also got a deal on a sweet satellite phone for $2500 to call my mom or play games while the midget fixes stuff. I have a super bright $3400 4-lightbar set-up with no switch. It’s finger snap activated. I tried to overpay extra for the fingers, but they came attached to my hand at birth. Bummer. Santa brought me bumpers & sliders last Christmas to show appreciation for the $30K in donations i make every day to the North Pole. Santa’s really big into overlanding. Oh, & yesterday, a random guy gave me a sticker for my windshield! He wouldn’t take the $1000 i slipped him, though. The sticker says “Douchebag”! I think it’s going to look SICK!!!! I can’t wait for my next overland adventure in Antartica this winter. I’m driving straight there from Florida... Anyway, i just wanted to check in, brag a little, & show some love to myself for being fucking awesome! Knowledge is overrated & uninformed overlanding rocks! I hope that everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Whoever has recommended Icon to you has watched too much Expedition Overland. They do not have a stellar track record on the forums, for $4000 less you can have a true overland suspension set up from OME, Dobinsons and a few others. Icon isn’t built around the overlanding model, or proven like the others I mentioned. I know the first thing you want to do is throw money at it, and have it all right now.... but you don’t need it. I’ve got many many miles of dirt and trails under this truck without most of that stuff. That said, I’m roughly $15k into modifications to this truck. And honestly most of it was “want” and not “need”. I was just in Colorado, on Imogene pass and a few others and there were 100% stock Tacoma’s doing just as well as me. Don’t believe everything you see or hear, overlanding is only recently become what it is now.

But, while I don't know where that whopping $400k number comes from, I thought I could help you feel a little better. So, I rifled through my sock drawer and did come up with a little over $100k. It's not the $400 you seek, but I did my best to gather some $ and other fun stuff!!

Oh, and in case you are unable to read the cover of the Journal, it's a little something I keep to help motivate my business. Maybe you could use a little help, given your failure at life?! So, here's a better shot...see, it reads "Idea become things" Maybe that will help you?? Have a fun day, and you do you, buddy!!

So he deleted the post where he said he rifled through his sock drawer and came up with over $100K then posted pics of said cash and proceeded to belittle @DWD484!? Dude, that may have been the douchiest post ever on TW - I mean think about that! That takes some serious douche factor! Damn! I knew I should of gotten a screenshot! :D
