    Whats up guys-
Your advice on my last thread really helped me to diagnose my o2 sensor problem and fix it...so for that many thanks! Now on to the latest....My check engine light was on but my truck was running great, I had bought it from a fella about a month ago so I wanted to fix anything that was wrong...naturally. So I was getting around 20 mpg and filling up once a week which I thought was great for the 6cyl but now after fixing the 2 o2 sensors and getting rid of the check engine light my truck feels like it has less torque and my mileage is not even 17. I drove across town and watched the gauge drope like a rock? I calculated it at 16.7. Could the malfunctioning sensors have been telling the computer to run the truck lean?? Could the issue be unrelated- Has anyone ever heard of this?? and is there any way to play with the timing on a 02 TRD 4 dr Taco without f'n up everything?

Im guessing it has a recent plug change, and clean air filter?

Im getting the same issues! Im getting like 13-15mpg around town. And I got plugs with about 17000 miles on them, clean filter, seafoamed the truck, and still got sh*ty mileage. What is deal!!!

Truck has a new Amsoil foam filter and I am not sure about the plugs?? I bought it about 6 weeks or so ago and have not changed them. It would be highly coincidental that a plug fouls on the same day as I fix the 02 sensors....wouldn't it??

alright i have been doing some more investigative work on this one and have looked in the engine- there are no gas leaks but I bent down and sniffed the exhaust and it smells very gassy. Not rotten just gas and my mileage sucks.

Did you gap your plugs to .040 when you installed them?

A malfunctioning AFR could make the truck run lean I guess.

Sacn it again to see if there any codes pending.

Maybe it is the plugs you used. What kind did you get?
