OKLEDLIGHTBARS Group Buy #2

Finally had a chance to get my lights in the mountains this weekend. I can't see the need for anything more for what I do and for the price, customer service, and quick shipping I'm very happy so far.

 

Sweet the led bar looks good. I should be picking up my bumper tomorrow from powder coating but the light bar cut isn't as big. It still fits the rigid slit but just won't see the top/bottom black part.

 

I bought the BAMF led bar brackets to use to mount the 20"

I think he means that the hardware that came with the light bar is a bit too big to fit through the bamf bracket. Mine was at least. Just pound the screws through with a hammer.

 

I bought that bar during the very first OKLEDlightbar group buy, so what ever hardware that came with it is what I used. You can tell from my sig pic that the newer bars with the cree LED's are significantly brighter

 

Did that affect the threads at all? I don't want to strip out the threads on the light bar housing.

 

If I have to beat a screw through a hole then it will mess up the threads. You can get a nut back on it but it will be very hard from the very first thread. Just get the right size bolts or drill the hole out bigger

 

The problem is that its not a hole its a slot, the housing has a tapped hole and the bolt it accepts is too big for the slots in the LED bar mount for the BAMF behind the grill light bar. I want to be able to adjust the light bar up and down which will require widening the whole slot.

 

Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah theres no real easy way to widen that whole slot. Easiest way I can think is to take a drill bit bigger then the slot, drill a hole on each end of the slot then use a skil saw and cut a piece out. Or maybe use a drimal and grind the whole slot down

 

The nut was just barely larger than my slot so it did not damage the threads when I pounded it through or the the threads on the housing. It did damage the threads on the nuts when I pounded it up and down for adjustments as you mentioned. I can still tighten the bolts down and have no issues though. I only resorted to this method because I don't have the proper tools to widen the slots.

 

Sneak peak on my pelfreybuilt front bumper. Still need to find a way to mount the 2x2s.

I doubt it. I believe it was a year between his 1st GB and this one.
