Old Camper Shells on Third Gen Tacos

New to this forum and really appreciate all of the info. I am shopping around for a camper shell and can't afford a brand new shell for my 2016 SR5.

Are there any older shells out there that fit 2016 access cabs?

 

While looking for a cap for my '10 I found one the first aluminum "small truck" caps (it was old - like 1974 old) it had many glass windows that crank up (the kind of glass that shatters into a million pieces if you're in a wreck) It was primitive and cool - almost "Airstreamesque" and would have been killer on my truck but then I found my ARE cap and that's the end of that tale. I had the same Q. Found this thread: consensus seems to be that the 2gen caps won't fit for two reasons: the 3gen bed is ~1" taller and the tailgate is different so the door won't line up right.
