    Her spirit is still intact and that's what helps us humans a lot when it comes to watching our old puppies....get old.

    Seems she can't see to well, her eye have that white glaze in them. Very common. Each of my old four footed family members got the same way as age found them.

    All of my dogs lasted pretty long, too. 17 for a German Shepard, 16 for a Black Lab, and 12 for my Rottie. The vet told me that for big dogs they should have been gone a long time ago, average age for dogs that big is supposed to be 10-12 years. 17 year old went totally blind as well as the 16 year old. Rottie had a heart attack. Even though they went blind, it was a matter of adjusting the way I catered to them, making sure I didn't move anything around because they went around the house as they remember, using smell and feel.

    Seems to me that you and Sandy are both very lucky to have each other in your lives.

    She is a happy puppy indeed. :)

    fast as a MUG! PYEERM. i remember when we took her to rygh's spot. didn't see her, then pyeeeermed by...didn't see her for awhile, then pyeeermed by again...

    and yeah, she dipped out at harlan, not quite pyeerm, but poof, gone, at any rate. lol. good ol sandy face
