Yeah I'm getting either BP 51s or Fox shocks in a few weeks.

I live in the rust belt so I'm thinking the BP 51s, they have rebound adjustment, by pass and "better" corrosion protection.

No one seams to be complaining about them and everyone seams to like them.

Unfortunately, I never took measurements. To me it looked like I got three inches in the front and two and a half inches in the back. That made the truck sit level. I had to install in June. I can guess maybe eight thousand miles since. I would guess it's settled about a quarter of an inch. I've got some pictures on my build post. And I've done some short reviews on a couple of the BP-51 threads.

Just my .02, but the BP51 I believe is not a true midtravel, and limits downtravel. I'm sure they ride ok, but for the price, I'd go King any day.

I drive a double cab long bed, not sure I will find a situation that will be a make or break with an inch less down travel up front.

I've been overseas for awhile and haven't been driving much lately. So I can't really comment. Slight adjustments make a noticeable difference and I really like the performance. I'll be picking up my truck in a few weeks and putting on steel bumpers and rock sliders. I'll let you know what I think then though you should have purchased yours by then).

My BP's and uca's show up on Monday. The question is do I leave them at factory preload or not. I have 60#'s of skids and about 120#'s of rock sliders to install as well.

I started a thread for people to post what their set ups are here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/what-do-you-have-your-ome-bp-51s-set-at.474525/

I am in a similar situation to you. Mine should be in Wednesday, and I wanted to get them set right before I installed them. They come pre-set with 20mm of preload. When I called ARB, they recommended 10mm for a totally stock truck. In my case with my aluminum plate bumper and steel skid, I am about 80 lbs over stock. My plan to probably set them to 12mm. For reference, they recommend 15mm for a full steel plate bumper, but no winch or armor. The 20mm out of the box is for steel plate bumper, winch and skids. All of these set ups are supposed to give about 2" of lift. The 20mm on a stock truck can give as much as 3-4" of lift based on some reports.

When I talked to ARB they strongly recommended doing the adjustments with the spring compressed. They said the threads were not designed for making adjustments while the ring is under pressure, and that you run a serious risk of messing up your threads. I am sure you can find a tool to to turn the ring, but for me, its not worth the risk.

That's why they don't include a spanner wrench......

It came with two. They both do the same thing, which is adjusting the compression and rebound on the shock.

Good to know. My dad just took my truck to the fab shop and got my bumpers and sliders put on for when I fly back. I pick it up next week and will check out the measurements.
