Question about Wheeler's full OME kit.

I did the install all around OME and Dakars with all the associated Wheeler's extras.

I am left with the brake-line they provide and I am wondering - do I really need this?

Can anyone give me an opinion? 2000 Prerunner. Thanks...

If you ever do anything to flex the axle? Yes. I went a few months before doing mine and nearly pulled the line in two on several occasions.

It's not hard to change out. You may as bleed all 4 brakes while you're at it, too. Get all that old fluid out and start new.

I would as a precaution. Always nice to have it in case the rear ever gets a little stretched. Better than losing brakes :)

@Cobra my 881 with "lift enhancer" has not settled much at all after a few thousand miles. my driver's boot is leaking but from the clamp, no tear present.

I installed the longer line when I did mine. Just as a precaution. It helps a lot when doing the spring swap as well since you don't have to worry about the line stretching when you drop the axle.

Hey I have a 02 2.7 xc 4x4 with some blown fabtech CO. Want to replace them with 5100s and OME coils. Stock bumper for now, but I want to get a tube bumper, probably no winch. Looking to get like 2-2.5" lift. Should I get 881s or 882s? Or 881s and some spacers?

    881s will do it. I'm running 881s on 5100s.

Not the best pic, but you get the idea. 33s and Wheelers 5 leaf packs.

Three years later I added a plate bumper and a BL winch. Moved up to the middle notch. 190-200# added.

How much lift are you guys getting out of your first gen v6s with the OME 883s. I'll be putting a plate bumper on along with these coils and trying to match my existing lift which is about 2.5" I know everyone's truck is different but I'd really like to know some ground to fender measurement, or better yet a measurement front center hub to top of fender so tire size isn't being taken in effect. I'll be running the 883s with adjustable 5100s on the lowest setting. Also should i get the 5 or 10 mm spacers to get rid of the taco lean or bring it up a touch higher? I'll be doing a dif drop as well so cv angles shouldn't be a problem. Any info would be great guys. Thanks

It seems to me that people have mixed reviews on the 5100s vs the omes. I went with the 5100s because I got them used for half the price $$$

No that's just the combo this forum loves for some reason. I wouldn't mix and match, the ome shocks and springs are designed to work with each other.

So I have the bilstein 5100s set up with a OME 881 coil and have the clip set to the bottom position, I love the ride but I could use a little more height up front. Would it hurt anything if I went up to the middle position? I'm only a 4 cylinder but I do have a ARB bumper and my hi-lift hanging off the front.

881s, Dakar leaf pack, nitro sports all around. Couldn't be happier hitting speed bumps.

I was at 21"in front and 21.5" in rear with 2002 dblcb. With OME 883 and nitrochargers I got 3" in front with no armor. I only gained 1" in the rear because I only had an extended shackle but plan on some hybrid springs soon.
I had problems with CV's with the diff drop, the passenger side I got fixed with the 'boot slide' mod, but the drivers was torn and leaking so I put in a Napa CV axle.
There are some pictures further up on this page.

255/85 BFG KM2 on 16" SCS F5 both front wheels rub pinch weld on bumps. Nothing tragic. I wanted the military look and it came out perfect, with better traction over previous setup. Used 5/8" front coil spacer and 1/2" leaf spacer to balance severe driver side lean.

Ran 17" runner wheels with 265 70 bfg ko before and never rubber except plastic driver side covering pinch. Had to use spydertrax wheel spacer with runner wheels-back spacing issue hitting upper control arm. Yes, truck has ome lift with runner wheels if you're wondering.
