Check out this thread, there are quiet a few guys running 255/85r16 a post half way down is running aluminum rims. I have the early 04 and down wheels so it pushes far enough out farther then yours. Edge of fender flare is edge of tire wall. The trimming and beating isn't required I don't think, you shouldnt need to touch the cab mounts and firewall until you run 34s or 35s on a 1st gen. I have 235/85/16s with 882s, had a slight rub at full lock but after my 4crwler 1in body it gave the needed clearance.

Yep, read thru that. I have been doing research for like the past 3 days straight on here. I just need to see a couple wheel and tire combos mounted up and put the beside my truck to see what I like. Heavy investment, so I want to make the right call.

Ended up putting OME 881 with 5100s at 0 after having the 5100’s and highest setting and I’ve had them on for about 4 months now. The ride is great, the springs and shocks on the lowest setting work well on and off the road. I am not happy with the height it gave me though, the springs have settled and only give me about 1” over a stock ex cab, non-4x4, non-trd, prerunner. I’m still stock with no bumper or added weight up front as well. I’m debating as to what to go to now and I’m saving a bit of money to decide on what to do forward for the front and rear. Looking to maybe model mine after some folk’s build on here. As stated, everyone’s experience is different so just thought I’d share where I’m at thus far. Cheers! :)

Thanks for sharing. The settling is what worries me. I think I’m going to go with 883’s with my 5100’s on 0.

I have 881s up front with a arb bull bar and sliders, no diff drop. The ride is a stiff but has got better over the 20k. As far as the rear I have taken out the second overload as ome recommends to lighten up the load. I have a aluminum camper so not much weight. I would say 881s are fine w/o a diff drop. They have handled the bumper very well as far as retaining the slight lift.

I grew up east of Knoxville and lived in both Nashville and Chattanooga for years. Upgraded though, now I'm in CO.

Yours is the first I think I’ve ever seen with gray bullet hole style Steelies. Usually the bullet hole style are black.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked too. No pun intended, hahaha.

The hub to fender on the stock prerunner is 21.5” and mine is 22.5”

That's odd...mine is still like 3". My front measures around 24" on both sides. I do have the 10mm spacers too but it shouldn't be that much if a difference...
