Surprisingly, very smooth. Soaks up the bumps really nicely. Feels 100x better than my worn out stock suspension.

taco03Trd: I got about 2.5 in the front and almost 3 in the back, but that was because my stock leaf springs were pretty tired. I did also add a 1/2 in spacer in the front to get a little more lift from those 880's.

TheDamaso: I actually got the whole suspension setup for about $350 because my buddy had a bunch of spare OME stuff from a Taco he just sold. The tires set me back about $650.

Just finished my back this weekend, did the front about a month and a half ago. Running 881s/Nitrochargers up front and Dakars/5125s in the back. Replaced a bunch of stuff in the front while I was there and I'm probably going to have to replace the seat plates that the U-bolts go through soon as well.

Ordered the full kit from wheelers and during the install, noticed the dakar bushings were different for the front hangar. Really odd. Now I am doing one side at a time so I cannot compare driver for driver as I am on the passenger side. I checked and stock toyota front leaf hangar bushings have the same part# and look like the one I have on the passenger side dakar. When I googled the # on the driver side dakar bushing, it returns as a Honda/Isuzu bushing (WTF?)... Ok - here are the pictures:

Anyone else notice this on their dakars? Expected? I'm going to reach out to Wheelers to figure it out but wanted to see if I could get some answers here.

UPDATE: Response received from Wheeler's -
Instead of these funky mismatched rubber bushings, I'm going to order the and give those a try.

Finally got my OME stuff installed. I did not add any axle shims or drop the driveshaft support bearing at all. I have no vibes on acceleration, but there is definitely a vibe on deceleration around 10-20mph. Feels like I’m going over a rumble strip, just not as terrible. Anybody have a suggestion to try to stop the vibe?

Cool - good to hear you didn't run into any issues. I ended up ordering a pack of Energy Suspension bushings from wheeler's and will complete my install this weekend. This thread made me feel a bit better with the decision to swap them out as well. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/change-the-front-bushings-in-your-dakars.479071/#post-14571486

On a side note, two of my inserts for the spring clips on the passenger leaf were cracked / broken. Reached out to Wheeler's and they took care of it by dropping replacements in the mail. A few others had this issue as well and reached out directly to ARB who also resolved immediately. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ome-dakar-spring-keepers-damage-rant.416812/ Good to know the support is still there and folks stand by their product.

Sure you did already but just in case, did you:

    1. wait to torque when off the stands and back on the ground?
    2. get an alignment?

I had a shop do the install. I’m not exactly sure how he torqued everything. An alignment was done.

It’s definitely related to the driveline angles. I can see the angle difference when looking at the driveshaft. It’s a vibe from somewhere between 10-20mph on decel only.

How bad is it? I had a vibration on acceleration from 20-30 but it seems to have gone away in the three months I haven't decided how to address it... I did grease all the zerc fittings along the shaft at some point after install, that may have helped

In my experience vibration on deceleration is usually a worn u joint

It’s nothing ridiculous, a minor vibe right before coming to a stop. I noticed it once and was trying to determine if it was tire vibes, but then I felt it every time I stop, and it wasn’t there before lift.

Usually it is but I’m sure it’s related to the lift and driveshaft angle change. This vibe wasn’t there before the lift, and the are still factory u-joints with only 82k miles.

I’m impressed with the way the OME handles off-road. I’ve got 883 coils with an ARB bullbar but no winch, and it rides stiffer than stock but the way the shocks work it’s much nicer on the bumps than the OEM stuff.

I took my truck on the highway and believe I’ve got some driveline vibes that start around 55mph as well as the deceleration vibes right at 20mph. Looking at my driveshaft, there’s a pretty steep angle right after the support bearing. The pinion angle is also flat and not pointed towards the trans. I’ve got the OME support bearing drop kit ordered. Gonna try that and see what happens. May have to get some shims to angle the pinion as well.

Hard to say, I think it depends on how worn out your current suspension is. What bumper do you have? I would guess 2 inches for the dakar -1, and would say 881 coils for a level ride.
