OEM Pitman arm puller for light-trucks screw type 27170 - Read Reviews on OEM #27170
    https://m.autozone.com/loan-a-tools...r-for-light-trucks-screw-type/209523_0_0?aqs=

i rented this puller because the stock arms are too wide for the standard pitman arms found around town. i did however have to buy longer bolts with nuts (atleast 1" longer) in order to fit over the UCA and press down the UBJ.

I have a pair of 882's that have about 5000 miles on them. To stiff for my prerunner. I'm looking to trade someone that has 881's with a 10mm top spacer for my 882's . All you guys that are adding weight up front and ready to upsize your springs let's trade!

I’m so excited to drive my truck after the 4x4 conversion/skid and winch is done. It’s been a rough 10 months. Do you have a bad lean going on with your Prerunner and the 882s?

Never installed em. Bought em used fir a good price before I really did my homework. The more research I did, the more I knew it would be a bad call.

I am about an inch higher in the front completely stock other than suspension. I'm probably just going to roll with it til I can get a new bumper

I install my full Ome setup (881, Dakar Leaf pack, and spc uca) which gave me about 2” rake in the back. However I also now have the full All Pro armor (front/rear bumper, sliders, skid plates, no winch yet). I have a V6 Double Cab 4x4 which is the heaviest configuration for the 1st gen. I’m going to switch to the 883 springs and get the Toytec 1/2” top plate spacer. Will this be a good move? Even with the plate spacer I figure I would still have a little back rake which is fine. Hopefully it will only be a 1” rake?

    Thanks for the input.

you prolly won't need the top plate spacer with the 883's.
And the rear will settle a bit over time. Throw some sandbags in there for a bit and that will help settle them out.

My 881s are finally broke in with a .25 top plate and the same setup as you. My front.is 23.25" inches Center hub to flare. And 38 overall.

The real question is do you like the ride characteristics now, if not to soft the 882 has the same rate just longer and a top plate for fine tuning if it nose dives and is sloppy the 883 has a higher rate or stiffer ride, but the same length.

I enjoy my 881s and will end up on 882s with a .25 or .50 top plate. With the family, full tank I'm at 4k total.

So you also have full body armor and a winch? I don’t have a winch yet but just my Apex bumper with skid plates is about 150-160lbs up front. Most winches are about 70lbs so that would put me over 200lbs easy just in the front.

I hear 882 aren’t really recommended anymore since they are just taller which will eventually sag. That and they put more strain on your cv without a steel bumper and diff drop?

I dunno man, Its all interchangeable so It comes down to personal preference right. Each truck and driver are not identical situations or parameters. And 883s will stress your CVS ect out as well. They have a higher spring rate so they dont compress as much making it a higher ride. Do you agree?

    Edited first half.

Yes I agree that’s why I am only considering it because I have full body armor. I also have a diff drop as well. If I was stock I would just stick with the 881 I already have. Anyways thanks.

they give the same lift as the 883's, just a softer ride. Does not affect the CV any more than the 883's will.
I've been running 882's for a couple years now, no sagging. The top plate spacer, if used, will cause more harm to the upper ball joint.
I've run all 3 springs 881, 882, and 883. There is a comparison in my build thread.

Thanks. I’ll check out your build. How else would someone minimize the rear rake without using spacer? Would having spc uca help with the ball joint wear? I read that 1/2” spacer were the max size while still being safe without extra wear?

    SPC would be fine.
Anther way to minimize the rake is to remove 1 leaf from the rear pack.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Its a great feeling huh? Loved taking my spacers off lol
