What is the +D43 XL ? is that to solve the lean problem or does the leaf came right and left already ? General springs has left and right specific on the base line but not sure if the HD are side specific? I see you're doing good research before pulling the trigger

2002... I phrased my questions like that because I have only returned to TW after a looooong absence. Since this is a OME build thread... I was trying to figure out where the OME parts were in the reference setup. I didn't want to be rude and suggest a separate thread may be in order, or perhaps start a new thread? For all I knew, the referenced setup may have been using OME springs with the 6112's, but that apparently is not the case.

I should probably have asked my 5100/5165 questions in a different thread myself.

The D43XL is an extra leaf by Old Man Emu to be paired with their Dakar rear leaf springs for extra weight carrying capacity. I EDD (every day drive) with about an extra 500lbs in the back of my Taco DC.

The 8leaf Deavers setup is a non-starter for me, I think, because of cost. Although... 5100's with OME 882's in front and Deavers in back might work. But for that money, I may as well just go full OME from the start.

I think my big question is whether an AAL of some sort might work for my weight / EDD needs for a year or so. Then I might be able to run 882's with 5100's all around (5125's in the back?) and an AAL. OR, 882's with 90004's in front and 5100's (or 5125's?) in back with an AAL of some sort.

I’ll see if I can snap a pic of mine later today. It’s a good leaf pack IMHO, lots of options. Whatever you remove, I suggest keeping it incase your set up changes.

A few members have posted useful info on the CS019r including @jjsul and others...

Agreed. Keep any leaves you pull out of the pack. I pulled one of the longer leaves (not an overload) when I first installed them and am planning to put it back in this coming spring.

What did you do for rear springs? And how much rake did you have with 881’s?

Basically stock. OME 882s, HD Dakars and nitrochrgers, TG front bumper, custom rear bumper, 4Xinnovations sliders, RAT skids, Softopper, 255/85/16 ST MAXX's on 16" steelies, 1" B.O.R.A. wheel spacers Scangaugae II, deck plate mod, grey wire mod,ECGS bushing, diff breather relocation, alarm mod, defrost w/o compressor mod, de-badged, sockmonkey beside decals.
To you fellas that know the OME setups. I’m looking for aproximately 3” inches up front over stock height. I currently have 5100’s set at 2.75 with factory coils which I believe are worn and sagging after 103k miles. Up front I have a tube bumper, no winch, full RAT skids and sliders. From my research I’m thinking 882s with the trim pack and then the 10mm spacer kit? Does this sound like it would net me about 3” after it settles in?

Current set up with stock coils on 5100s set at 2.75. Tires are 33s(255/85/16)

882’s or 883’s will yield the closest to 3”

leave it! Truck looks perfect the way it is!

Why not just message @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc and ask? Whenever I've had a question about the OME suspension, they've always listened and given sound advice. I say keep it the way it is :boink:

I dont have a winch in yet either, I also have a 1in body lift on there as well, so that might be why you are seeing so much clearance. I can say my cvs are at around 30deg angle. Which is more then im comfortable with.
