I have the 881's up front since I have the 4 banger, and didn't plan on getting an aftermarket front bumper. If (when) I get a new front bumper, I will steer clear of heavy options.

As for the rear, they are the Dakar leafs with greasable shackles. I'll probably want to Add A Leaf (D43XL Extra Leaf Set) after I get that 70 pound rear bumper on. I'm probably pushing it right now with the current weight on the rear.

Shoes are MB Rims wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler All Terrains

Thanks. Been admiring your rig for awhile. What's your set up again?

fyi, they are 31x10.50s on 15 inch rims. I wouldn't go much larger than that for my DD

Yeah. This is my DDriver as well which is why I'm considering smaller tires even though I can't get enough of the look of the 285's.

Are you a v6? If so I think 285s would do you just fine w/o too much loss of power. I also run a 31 X 10.5 r15 and I wish I had gone 285s, honestly mostly out of vanity as I prefer less 'thigh gap'. But also for just that bit more clearance. I bet there are more threads on this. If someone doesn't rip us for threadjacking, maybe someone running 285s would chime in.

Yes it is a V6. Power is ok. I'm more concerned about mileage and wear on the tranny, etc. I'll probably end up with the 882's and keep the 285's for awhile and if I decide to go smaller just go to like a 255/85. After paying for the full OME kit tires will have to wait awhile. I just didn't want to get too high if I decided later to go to smaller tires. I don't like the thigh gap either

I think if you are jonesing after the 285's, just get them. You'll regret it later I think. Everyone's different but I'm really glad my retread 265/75 didn't work out because I love the 33x12.5 after all.

As far as springs, not sure I've seen a setup on prerunner with 882. Might sit a bit tall up front, it that's just a guess... I suppose with an 881 and spacer, you can always remove the spacer if needed.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. I can keep the 285's currently on the truck and when it's time to replace I can remove the spacer from the 881's if I do decide to go smaller or leave as is if I stay big. I wish I knew what difference if any there is as far as ride is concerned. I currently have a little Bro lean going and I'd prefer to have a little rake or just flat. Sounds like the 881's might be the way to go. I've been talking to Kurt @ Cruiser Outfitters and will really fine tune things when I place my order.

After experiencing such a rough ride since I got my truck I really don't want to put any kind of spacers on. I'm hoping it's just worn out shocks and being way out of alignment. Dunno if the spacers really have much to do with the harsh ride I currently have.

Small spacer, like what you would use for the 881s, won't effect ride as much as a big spacer. Springs will primarily be the lift whereas right now it's the preload of the big spacer you currently have. Hence why the ride is so rough.

Ah hah. Makes sense. Thanks Scenekd. I'm also getting allot of vibration at 60+mph. My plan is to get the OME put on get it aligned and see where I'm at.

IMG_20150627_162335.jpg Finally picked up my taco with 880's - w/jeep spacer on top and 2 5mm spacers on bottom of shock to give the ride as well as Dakars in the rear. It actually rubs less now than with the spacers and has a little rake. Love the ride compared to what I had before! It'll be awhile before I ditch the 285's now.

OME 9004s and 881 coils in front, stock out back with 154k miles, sitting about 1" low from front. Any suggestions for the rear?
