The spacers would add more lift. In some cases too much and it could bind your CV's when fully extended. In that case a diff drop will be needed.

What does the trim packer and 3 degree shims do exactly? Can you define it more?

3" OME lift with 885 coils on nitrocharger 90000 shocks with 5mm trim packer on driver's side, TC UCAs, Rear OME Dakar leafs with nitrocharger shocks, All-pro U-bolt flip kit and 3* Toytec shims, extended rear brakelines, 16" Raceline Rockcrusher 887 wheels with 3.6" backspacking, BFG KM2 305/70/16 tires, Doug Thorley header, Doug Thorley catback exhaust, Volant CAI with ram air, Weathertech floor mats, Kicker 12" sub, Kenwood 500W RMS amp, Relentless Fab front and rear bumpers, 4.88 gears, custom flatbed with swing out tire carrier

top plate spacers add about 3/4" of extra lift - too much if your 4x4 - believe me I know from personal experience with them.

everything sounds good except the diff drop. I heard it doesnt do much on 2nd gens and is recommended against.

I would also order the u-bolt flip kit from all-pro to install at the same time. it comes with it's own u-bolts too

Trim packer accounts for the Taco lean on the drivers side. The shim are for the rear springs in case of vibrations. I didn't order them with mine and only installed CB drop and have no vibrations at all. No diff drop either.

trim packer raises your driver's side an extra 5mm to compensate for the "taco lean" since tacos also sit a little lower on the drivers side.

3 degree shims go under ur leaf springs to keep your driveshaft at more of a straight angle to your differential to your transmission - this will help eliminate many vibrations that you get from lifting trucks.

Always better to check w/o first in case they cause the vibrations. :) No need to spend money you don't have to and have parts lying around not being used. He can get them pretty quick from Toytec being he's in the same state if he needs them.

Looking good but with 285's you may want to go to 3" with the top plate spacers.

You don't use top plate spacers with the 886's

ya that sounds good. im not even sure what the stone guards are.

look into the all-pro u-bolt flip kit. it will add more clearance under your rear axle. and it comes with the extended u-bolts too.

OME is a heavier duty shock than 5100 and costs more. Icon has some great products but their add a leaf is not as heavy duty or stiff as a Dakar. Both Icon 3 leaf and Dakars are stiffer than stock ride.

Okay thanks. Yeah I was looking at the Icon Stage 5, but its around 4k, and well I don't want to spend that much on a lift yet and I don't need that much really for what I do; as sick as their lifts are tho. Yeah I would either do a Dakar full leaf in the back or Alcan I think.

Okay I looked it up. What are the Timbren Bump Stops? They make the U-bolt much more expensive

it flips them upside-down. it adds clearance. it prevents rocks from damaging and causing carnage to the end of your u-bolts. The kit comes with u-bolts and a plate. google images of u-bolt flip kit and compare it to standard u-bolts on tacomas - u'll see.

edit: and dont worry about the bumpstops. I dont have them and never needed them. they prevent your tire from flexing up into your fenders. if your run 33s you dont really need them. if you wanted to run 35s for example, you would probably want them but they would limit your flex. Google image search that too

So the Timbren Bump Stops help protect the U-Bolt essentially?
