Old man question re: seat comfort

Im finding recently that my 2017 TRD sport seat is causing me discomfort on my right hip. Im constantly pushing myself up using the console and adjusting my seating position. Its like the right side of the drivers seat toward the console is sloping or too soft that way. It doesnt seem like it when i check and i know the cushioning has got a little softer as normal wear and tear after 8 years and 250,000km but nothing i can tell would cause me to be uncomfortable . I tried putting my sweat shirt rolled up between my right hip and the console and that seemed to offerd me some support. Wondering if anyone has same issue and a solution or knows a product i can buy . Ive tried all sorts of different search terms but coming up blank. Thanks for any input .

I do that to. Leaned that lesson the hard way a few years ago . Still getting discomfort and wouldnt be so bad but i drive a lot for work to different places to teach.

Have you tried seat jackers? May sound counterintuitive but they do help. I find them a bit too tall so added a small spacer in the back as well. So 1.5 in front and .5 or .75 in the back I find to be the sweet spot.

 

2015 DBLC. Found I was miserable on long drives. Back hurt, always needing to stretch up under dash, pain in sciatic. Seat Jackers saved me. Seats are too flat and needed more leg support. My two cents

 

As discussed here over the years, the 2nd gen front seats and position are not comfortable to put it mildly. I bought a square cushion like the ones that go on a wood-seat dining room chair, in a color to match the interior and fit the lower cushion. (gray/titanium) It is approx 3-5" thick.

It corrected the entire seating position: The rear of the bottom cushion at the seat back is now higher and sitting high also provides much better outward vision and view. Thigh support for my legs, previously non-existent, is perfect and comfortable. I no longer feel like I am sitting on the floor. Even the lumbar support is better, as the bottom cushion is now raised and matches the lumbar support area of the seat-back. For a $10 outlay, it's like I put in a new 6-way power seat. Borrow one from the dining-room chairs and give it a try.

 

Seat Jackers are a placebo mod IMO, but many here swear by them. IMO, the best thing if you really want a more comfortable seat is to dump the Taco and get an F-150

 

How is it placebo if it is literally changing your seating position?

 

Cut off ones nose to spite their face, seems a tad drastic...

 

Desert Does It seat jackers on the front only. Without them I would have had to sell the truck.

The seats have no thigh support, it felt like all my weight was on my heels & butt bones. I could only drive about an hour before I was constantly shifting around trying to relieve the pain.

 

Sorry, let me clarify. The claimed "night and day difference" people say when they put these things on is anecdotal at best. Those claiming it helps are definitely exhibiting the placebo effect. They "experience" an improvement due to expectancy or belief. But mainly they say it helps because they blew a C-note for those things and don't want to admit they got ripped off. Does that help?
