    Does anyone know if these roads are closed as part of COVID19, like the parks are? Just bought and set up camping trailer, and want to test it. It looks the Forest Service Road off 105 to the east has some pull offs that will suffice for a night.

    I've heard it's closed for camping unfortunately. If I'm wrong someone let me know!

    Probably a couple hours depending on how many stops you make.

    Just found this thread. I'm up that way all the time. Love Old 105 and FR982. FWIW you dont really need 4wd (especially when dry) and tons of free camping.

    @Not_Sure Yes, its all open up there. Some of those pics were last week, some were mid May. Note: Mountain folk don't need no stinkin' masks. In their opinion.

    @Hiyudurin They're Relentless Fab. The option set on them was "Double Cab Long Bed / Standard Outers w/ Dimpled Filler Plates + Make Sliders Flat for Step Use / Bare"

    The wife/kids are typically with me so I needed them to act as a step with the lift. Love em.

    Thanks, I’m in the same boat. My wife wants a step to get in the truck. I told her it would have to be a slider. This is a good way to cover both wishes.

    Not a bad run. Lots of traffic on the northern side though.

    On most maps, including Google, its "Roseboro Rd". I believe the FR designation only applies on the east side of the Blue Ridge. The west side is paved and goes into Linville.

    TURNS OUT IM WRONG... from a couple sources;
    • Schoolhouse Ridge Road (FR 4068)
    • Roseboro Road (FR 981)
    • Mortimer-Piedmont Road (FR 982)
    • Edgemont-Pineola Road (FR 464)
