Any good places to pull off and catch some trout on this old road?

I dont know about 105, but in this area in general, oh yes. You'll find 10-20" pretty regularly, brown and rainbow. Check the signage, some areas are delayed harvest. Everywhere requires your NC license.

Lower side of 981/Roseboro and almost all of Brown Mountain Beach Rd runs along the creek nearly the full way. As you get closer to the bottom end of BMB Rd it can get busy, so go higher and enjoy some hiking on your honey hole scout.

Much of this area is Wilsons Creek, which is hatchery supported. On the other side of the blue ridge I believe you can visit the hatchery, though I never have.

    From my June trip =]

I did see a couple side trails and 2 that had open gates but didn’t go down them. I was by myself and didn’t want to get lost or stuck lol.

yeah same here. Next time I’ll go down them. Cause there are plenty of trees to winch from if needed.

It was open. According to Gaia GPS it’s Wolf Pitt Rd. Looks like it has three water crossings. Shocks Creek, Sandy Branch and some unnamed offshoot. I was alone with no winch so I decided against it.

That very first pull off would be a great spot to camp and could fit a few trucks. There were a few more fairly large spots as well, I saw hidden off the road.

I can’t read topographic maps for shit but it looks like a good bit of elevation change too? (The red at the bottom is the pull off and beginning of the road)
