I drive about 100 miles/day and my is300 is getting some work done on it. So in the meanwhile I am driving my Fathers 86 22r truck and I am in love!!! If I had the cash to buy it from him I would. Interior and exterior are works in progress but the motor is rebuilt and it runs like a top. Super fun to drive. Anyone use these as DD?

i believe it was an "86 truck just like yours that the guys on Top Gear ( the real one) tried to destroy but couldnt !! They burned it, drowned it and dropped it off a bldg that was imploded...cranked up every time... i will say that a mechanic came out after each time to check it and did some sort of minor adjustment but then it cranked right up !! amazing !

I had always thought I HAD to have tons of room in my truck but I really like the single cabs In the future I can see myself getting an nice fixer upper car and having a new single cab 4x4 as a DD. Your truck looks awesome, great build thread!

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I'm trading a buddy of mine my old '55 Cadillac project car for this lovely '79.

Haven't got her to sing yet, but she's been sitting 10 years. Allegedly the motor was rebuilt 12 years ago and we ran a compression test on the engine today and the readings were between 98 and 113 pounds. This little tank has the earlier 20R engine in it, not the 22R that came in '81 I want to say.

I think you are right on the 20r. That is a solid trade. That will be a great build thread. Keep me posted.

Yup! Am going to start tinkering on it next week. Started a separate thread in this section if you want to follow it. Titled "New TOYota."
