Could always be worse. At least these 2 girls will still hunt with me.

How are quail numbers looking out there this year? Do you have to head up toward Oklahoma to get into any bobwhite? Abilene/brownwood area used to be great for quail 20 years ago

Do you need to know, or care?
Don't know why they got rid of these on the 3rd Gen, thanks for posting.

I'm a native Texan and a UT grad. I don't head up to Oklahoma for anything ever. :)

Quail here are as good as I've ever seen them in my lifetime. We've got tons of bobwhites and blues too. I mostly hunt Central/ South Texas.

Arizona grand slam is on my bucket list for sure. Blues can be a real bitch here as we've got so much cactus and mesquite. Poor dog gets torn up bad messing with the runners but I love hunting them.

That picture was actually the first shot bird my Vizsla ever had in her mouth. She was only 9 months old when the season started last year. My old dog was of limited use during his last 5 seasons (lived to 16 years old), and my daughter was my dog during those years. This was the changing of the guard.

Mearns are the only variety that hold well for dogs here. Gambels are damn near impossible they run like crazy and there's rarely much cover for them except cholla and prickly pear

Yep. They're not something you want to hunt with just anyone. Ask Cheney.

A while ago I had replaced the OEM flaps on my gen2 with weathertechs. I just received a set of the '4x4' decals. It'll be a few months before I'm able to get them on. They look like pretty good quality.

well, now that the weather is better, I put the decals on the weathertech mud flaps. Quality seems good. We'll see if they last.4x4.jpg

I've always liked the Yosemite Sam / "Back Off" mud flap, but didn't see that among the choices.
