Got to love the old School's! I can work on my 85' with my eyes closed. (well not really) but my 08' i love it but it's just not the same. Everything on the old schools were more simple from changing plugs to complete engine swaps. Simple. The 08' thank's to TW for all the info i've learned. Way more challanging. But hey it's a newer vehicle. 2 hours to change plugs on my 08' (taking breaks etc)! How bought maybe 20min on the old schools.

    Let's see... I've had an 85 std cab (4" suspension, 3" body, & 35" TSL SX's), an 85 extra cab (4" suspension, 3" body, 5.29's, & 36" TSL radials), a 91 std cab (4" suspension, 33" BFG a/t's), a 92 4Runner (2" suspension, 32" BFG a/t's), a 96 4Runner (3" suspension, 33" Nitto A/T's), & an 01 4Runner (bone stock). I'll have to dig out & scan pics of the old pick ups. Here's one of the 01 4Runner...

Guy crossed into my lane sideways. I mostly walked away. No broken bones, but lots of muscle/tendon injuries. The occupants of the Corolla were both medevaced. Yeah, that's blood. It was bad.

Put a new timing chain and a mild cam in the 4Runner this weekend. Hopefully will be good for another 200k now.

Here's a pic of my 83, drove it for 20 years till the engine caught on fire one sad day. Replaced it with a 1992 pickup.

My old '87 I had back in the mid '90s. Out of all the Toyotas I have owned, this one was one of my favorites. Behind it is my old '83 which is the only picture I have of it.

I bought this 4runner as a summer toy/winter boredom project. '85 22re 5 speed, mostly original aside from a cheap lift and tube work. I already ordered an All-pro driveline brake, next I am going to get all the rust cleaned off the frame.
