They are very strong. I originally picked it up for 5000 from my cousin, who got it from the original owner. Still is at 111k miles. KBB still puts the price higher then that with any kind of mods on it! Mines only a single cab, wish I could lean back in it like your dads.

I have a 92 Toyota Hilux Surf V6 with 120,000Km. Since the pic I have removed the roof rack, window deflectors, and fog lights and have it newly painted and new tires. This was imported into Western Canada from Japan and later to NL - that is why the low Kms. I use it for summer easy driving and keep it in the garage during the winter - good shape inside and out.

Sorry just saw this. They are of the Home Brew fashion. Not the prettiest but they work. I have a set of 4xInno w/ KO's sitting in the garage now.

A few more of my 85

My dog Tank (RIP buddy) would hop in every time the doors were off or open.

He loved the red truck as much as I do.

Professionally built up in Utah somewhere.

V6, 5 speed, 529s, spool locker in the rear, front suspension moved forward, 63" Chev springs in the rear, CB, 37s.

It looks like an Addicted Off Road winch bumper.

Almost no undercarriage trail rash and no damage to the unprotected rocker panels. Very solid, reinforced front end buildup. The interior is in good shape for it's age.

One lockout is damaged/broken and there is a brake fluid leak.

I'll start tearing into it after I free up room on the side of the house by selling the 81.

Plans are to remove the bed and replace with cage, put an air locker in the front, add sliders, a winch and a Marlin crawler.

This is a great base rig at a great price and I plan on taking it to the next level.

"Professionally built" always makes me worry, lol. Ever seen the difference between a professionals work and the actual owners work?

Just giving you a hard time, but I would go through everything, and every weld on it, prior to flogging on it. Good find.

Agreed, but this was the shop owners personal ride, or so I'm told.

    So far, everything looks good.

Not a bad rig at all. You might want to address that rear shackle angle.

Had it for 15 years, and lived on the Rubicon. Entirely made in Japan, so the quality was amazing by today's standards. When I finally sold it, the doors opened and closed like it was brand new, with very little wind noise on the highway. Wish I could say the same about my Tacoma.

Yeah buddy  it's gonna be good once i can get home from college this summer and start wrenching on it.

Any suggestions on what i should do? i was thinking of getting it all looked over and seeing what needs to be replaced and go from there.
