@ToyRyd04 , is that your rig next to the '94?

This 1994 Xtra Cab belongs to a guy I went to college with. In 2016, we both ended up at the Carlisle Truck Nationals, and I of course took some pictures of his truck...

His truck is very oddly optioned...

It is a base model with the 2.4L and 5-speed handshaker, and it DOES NOT have A/C. However, despite not having A/C, it does have tilt wheel and intermittent wipers!

When I first met him and told him my 2010 Taco didn't have intermittent wipers, he was shocked that there was a truck more basic than his (though I have A/C)...

This 1987 FJ60 belongs to a guy I was friends with in middle school, when my dad was stationed at NAS Whidbey Island.

He still lives in Washington, and this beast is his daily driver! It's a factory 4-speed, and it has factory A/C that has been converted to R134a and blows 39°F at the vents!

I’ve always wanted a 62 that I could do a ute chop to making it like a Tacoma access cab with a ute tray and canopy on back.

For visuals see Shawn Whale’s “Dirty 30” chopped HZ60.

Saw this parked in town on Court Street today...

Based on the fact that it has an antique tag, I'd say it's 1992 or older. A quick glance through the passenger window revealed that it does in fact have A/C!

If you look closely under the left windshield wiper, you will see that the owner didn't put enough money in the parking meter...

Let me translate: Hi, my name is Matt and I was born in 1992. Even at this young age I've still come to have an appreciation and respect for the 2nd gen pickups. :D
    This.

You do not want to do that. I went from a '71 FJ40 with a 350, 35's, ARB's f/r, and some other goodies. Sold it, bought a stock '85 single cab pickup and feel like I upgraded. FJ40's are nice, but not worth the price of admission if you ever want to get your tires dirty.

An '85 4Runner will most likely be my next project if I decide against building a prerunner.

First gen 4runner/2nd gen pickup > any other starting point.

That is crazy. I was a freshman in '01. Millenials are right before you. I may technically be at the old end on that gen.

But there is hope for your generation. Many of you are children of that wave of military parents who are more likely to raise you on conservative principles and you are not coming of age with a spineless President in office.
