Got home from work yesterday morning, already had the two front seats and the old “replacement” Poly tank pulled out.

Installed a new CCOT replica steel tank, fuel pump, sending unit, fuel lines, fuel filter, filler neck, and gave her an oil change.

Dumped 5 gallons of 87 Non-ethanol gas into her, cycled the key, and pumped up the gas pedal. Started immediately.

Not too much out there more reliable than an old school TOYOTA.

She’s going to get a bath than out to a cruise night tonight.

    It’s not
It’s not that new to me. Had it a few years now. I bought it “restored” and to be honest it’s pretty nice for a driver quality FJ (The really nice ones are INSANE money). The Poly tank it came with always weeped a bit of gas when it was full and the fuel gauge was never right and I figured while I was in there.... now it’s running really well and the wife is happy it doesn’t smell like gas.

Looks great. When I was looking for my Taco a dealership had one in the show room full restored. I tried to buy it instead of my truck, the owner wasn't selling it. He did have a crazy amount of money in it.

Haha. Yeah... they go for stupid money now, I paid less for it than my new Taco... but not by much! Biggest difference really in 10 years it’ll be worth what I paid or more, Tacoma’s or really any new vehicle just can’t do the same no matter how good they hold value.

Have you ever checked out ICON’s or any of the real high dollar FJ builds? There’s one on Hemmings.com right now, a “steal” at 185K

This looks like an American-spec (or at least a North American-spec; Canadian, maybe?) LC. However, it sounded like there was a diesel engine under the hood. It was registered in NC, which means it's either emissions compliant, an antique, or otherwise totally exempt, so I'm guessing it's a diesel conversion. Also, the temperature was well into the 90s when I took these pictures, and the windows are all up, so it's obvious that the air-conditioner works...

The friend/neighbor who helped me install my stereo is presently vacationing in Punta Cana with his wife and daughter. I asked him to send me pictures of Toyota trucks, and he did not disappoint!

I saw this old Toyota this afternoon in Benton Arkansas at the Walmart tire center, it was really clean.
