I somewhat feel the same way.I also think some other legendary skateboarder’s decks/boards shouldn’t of been brought back as well.

 

I remember purchasing back to back sets of Venture’s in the early 90’s.Baseplate snapped on one set and hanger on the other.Both were purchased within a short period of time each and i was refunded for both because it was like,WTF!

Either I had better luck or you guys were more hardcore than me.

The trucks I had problems with were a pair of trackers. I got them from a friend and they had bad axle slip and I kept breaking kingpins for some reason.

 

My Venture baseplate snapped from getting air off of a launch ramp.Went down hard ending up with road rash on my forearm and side of my face.Still have somewhat of the scar still showing to this very day on my forearm,lol!When i snapped the kingpin on the other set of Venture’s it was a simple ollie to stall on a curb.

Don’t know if it was a bad luck thing or what but i returned back to what i truly always desired being Independent’s.Even having a pair of Trackers and Gullwing’s at one point or the other it was always Independent for me and that’s how it still is for me.

 

My ventures would always snap the pin. I used to love how they rode but hated having to keep extra pins with me. I switched to krux and sensors after about the 3rd pair of ventures.

 

i started with gullwings, then went to trackers, but the base plates never held up. I switched to indy's and never had any problems

Watson Laminate’s out of San Diego CA.(since 1975)did the reissue for SBS’s.

I believe i’m actually going to set this up to ride/cruise even with D”Gnarls”M signature unless i can get a additional signature from him which is possible.

Well my intentions from the beginning were to purchase the board/deck as a collector item/wall art.

So after extensive research i decided to make it a complete to skate and replicate it as closely as possible to DM’s setup back in 1979.

Board/deck posted above^ in my last few posts.

1.)DM Kanoa 40th anniversary reissue.
2.)Independent Trucks stage 11 “215”mm 10 inch axle(OG mounting position holes).

Note:Independent Trucks -215’s are the closest in design features,ride quality to the first three stages that are no longer available unless found used and if available can be very pricey.

3.)Powerflex Wheels -Powerflex 5(63mm96A)
