I agree the artwork on some of the decks is iconic.

    No problem, man.

Something else is if you get a reissue and decide to mount some trucks and wheels to it, not a big deal to beat the hell out of it, haha.

Here's another site that has limited stock bit actually original product from old inventory:

    http://oldschoolskates.com

I got a pair of Rat Bones wheels from them that I still ride on one of my set ups.

Their site could seriously use a graphic upgrade, though...

Inflation hasn't changed the cost of goods much. Basically the same these days.

Only thing that makes a difference would be upgrading the bearings. I use Rock'N'Rons Rockets and they are sooooooo much better than Bones reds or whatever.

They actually make racks that go on the wall for displaying your decks now.

Yeah I might stop by a old friends shop in the city I live in super cool dude. I know he will hook me up if I got back into it. I love me some mini ramp skating there is like 3 parks within a 10 mile radius.

I haven’t thought about skating in a long time. Grew up in the 90’s so it was part of growing up.

Me and my brothers built janky backyard halfpipes, all the benches and curbs around town were waxed up. If I’m being honest I sucked something terrible at it. 100 pounds and 20 years later I’d probably put myself in traction. Some great memories though.

I don’t have any memorabilia from that time but I do remember my first non-blank deck. A big deal for me as I usually skated blanks, second hand trucks and wheels and whatever bearings were cheap. It was a Chad Muska:

    I wasn’t into it

I don’t like that corporate companies have moved in, but I do like that they have forced privately owned companies to step up their game. Nike’s R&D is next to none and I won’t argue the quality of product they put out, however, they’ve closed more core shops than they’ve opened by requiring insanely stupid minimum orders. Shops end up selling other merch to pay the bill/keep the account open and go out of biiiiiz.

    Emerica for life!

    FTFY

Retail cost is about the same, wholesale cost has gone up 5 fold since the early 90’s. Shops don’t even make money on the hard goods anymore! $36 + $2 (shipping) for a deck I couldn’t sell for more than $52 + free grip ($3 cost). ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Warping has everything to do with not drying the wood properly before pressing them. If your board warps, let the mfg. know. Reputable companies will replace and usually send an extra.

Unless it’s several years old. Then it’s just toast.
