Local Ramp here in Gilbert. The dude doing the painting is Nick. He is the boyfriend of a girl who is in a woman’s group with my good friend Mo who introduced us when I moved out here. Awesome skate scene here in the greater Phoenix area. Always has been really. That’s what drew me out here way back in ‘02! The back yard scene is strong too! So far in the last two weeks it’s been crazy! There’s a built to skate pool I’ve to, a rich dude in Paradise Valley who built a whole damn skatepark for his daughter, insane bowl, and this not so mini mini Ramp!

That’s sick and i have friends in Gilbert and throughout AZ.Also Andy @orezona lives in Gilbert and may be aware of what you posted.I’ve been unable to visit Andy yet and he’s aware of coming to SoCal to skate the halfpipe when time permits for him.AZ is calling me more now,hehe!

 

If you were really determined and money isn’t an issue you could probably build the skeleton out of that composite wood, raised on cinderblocks that way it won’t rot so quick. Or the good old fashioned corrugated metal roofing overhead. Just some ideas. And @ODNAREM your ramp is going to be super sick!

Name's Andy and I hung out with the Old Man Army crew for a while but fell out of the scene when my knee disintegrated on me in '15.
I'm old friends with Calamity Jean and have known Justin who's ramp that is for years but just haven't been able to get over to skate it because of typical bullshit life reasons. Have you skated Mike's pool, too? I need to get over there since it's literally like 2.5 miles from my house.

I skated Chandler yesterday for a little while with my kiddos. It was a bit busy for them and they were kind of intimidated so we weren't there for very long at all.

Anyways, not saying we should try to hook up and session either on the trails with our trucks or our boards on some ramps/bowls but I'm definitely game...!

Once I get through these holidays I'll be re-upped on my PTO for 2019. I have a buddy who lives in Encinitas who skates/surfs and have been threatening to come visit him as well.

I really need to load up my truck with my skate gear, beer and motivation and do a road trip to see you folks! I'm working on getting my fat ass more active and skateboarding on a regular basis will definitely help.

Maybe we can plan a TW SoCal Sk8 meet up or something...?

Figures tomorrow I'm releasing a new batch of taco patches... Side gigs can be fun but ultimately are still work.

Do you have a Bulldog Canyon pass? Thinking about hitting that trail this weekend and maybe Mike's Sunday. Skated every weekend for the last 3 weeks so I'm going to try to keep the streak up.

 

Also, I like how there's been more skate talk in the morale patch thread than here today...

Heck yeah and Bulldog Canyon is fun!Easy to get a pass at the Mesa Tonto National Forest Ranger Station and it’s free.
