Bones brigade fan here! In my day, I liked my Caballero, but also rode Hosoi and Magnusson boards. Remember those weird hammerhead and convex boards?!

I'm partial to Powell Peralta since my name is almost that! I often get the urge to jump on my kids skateboards, but remind myself I'm not young and invincible anymore. LOL

I broke my ankle in 1989 after an excessive launch from a launch ramp. More sprained ankles than I can ever remember! I've been lucky on the downhills so far...:fingerscrossed: (currently knocking on wood). I thought I broke my tailbone last year in the snake run at the Arvada, CO park, but it was just a really bad bruise/contusion.

There was a bowl in Charleston, SC at a park called "The Hanger." It had an 8-foot rectangular bowl that cascaded into a larger, 12-foot rectangular bowl. It had close to 2 feet of vert in the 12-foot end. I refused to drop in. Fast-forward to 2017 in SLC, UT. Team Pain built a replica Hanger bowl at a new, outdoor, concrete park. Finally dropped in on that thing after 25 years!! :dancingbacon:

Skated local skateshop boards and krux trucks.

I remember growing up watch all the skate videos on VHS. Favorites were Tilt Mode, Tilt Mode "Man Down" and "Chomp On This"

Remember I was in 7th grade and saved up money for some Circa Shoes.

Then high school started skating I path Shoes. The grasshoppers and cats.

I must have hit my head in Arvada, too! :frusty: The Charleston Hanger replica bowl is at the Arvada, CO skatepark. The new Lehi, UT park has a very similar bowl, but not quite the same...but it's deeeep!

That bowl in Lehi is super clean, any vert these days cleans out the briefs in this old man's pants but I love to watch the new gen.

Deep bowls are fun to carve (for me) but I'm barely able to get backside scratchers on vert. I was a street and miniramp champ so bigger shit never was around and by the tine thwy started making all the gnarly parks in Oregon (early 2000's), I was past learning too much new stuff.

Still, my skating towards the end of the 90s had plained out so getting into transition totally started a new fire in me. I helped get the skate park approved/built in my hometown of Newport, Oregon and pretty much learned how to carve in that thing. Lincoln City was only 20 miles north so that was very instructive as well. LC is still one of my favorite skateparks in the world.

There are a lot of fun parks in Arizona but Oregon was known as the Mecca for skateparks for a reason. Skated with a lot of the builder crews from Grindline, Dreamland, Placed to Ride, Airspeed and others which was awesome in of itself. Miss the PacNW!

Anybody skate Kona Skate Park during the 80s? The Snake Run they had was a blast, I mainly rode that and the pool.

The fiberglass half pipe they had looked scary as shit.

We used to go to the snake run in Vancouver BC. Late 80's and 90's, not sure if it even exists anymore. Richmond skate ranch was another super great place to go north of the border. Growing up in a small town that frowned on skating we spent a lot of time driving to skate spots.

I haven't (don't get to New Mexico very much if ever) but I've done a bit of ditch riding around in the Phoenix area and it's super fun. There's some extremely long and pretty decent ditches out in Southern Phoenix by South Mountain that are pretty easy to get to.

They are fun but one thing I've learned: Having a "dedicated ditch set up" is actually a pretty good idea. Need softer wheels or you either shred them or can't get any speed or both.

GODDAMNIT this thread is making me want to go skate!

Also, been toying with the notion of doing some skate-related patches but wasn't sure if there was much of a market out there for them... Hmmm...
