The YMCA (Magdalena Ecke) skate park in Encinitas is pretty cool. Shawn White used to skate there a lot back in the day. But there will be lots of kids.

Not sure at this time.Progress/finishing the ramp or other obligations are priority first.I’ve already met Daniel Creadon( Factory 13)a few times and he signed my Salba(Steve Alba)collaboration board for me.

I made this one specifically to reference my skateboarding injury earlier this year which busted my arm and required orthopedic surgery to fix.

Basically a 6" long titanium plate and eight screws later (4 on each end), I'm still recovering from it and will have a permanent 8" long scar along my inner forearm.
My goal is to hopefully use the profits from this drop to help pay for medical bills which 2 months after surgery have finally started coming in.
I have insurance but my co-pay/out-of-pocket maximum isn't trivial so I'm going to try to take care of some of this debt quickly instead of hold onto it for months/years.
This is the first taco design since my Christmas taco (Rudolf the Red Nosed Taco -still in stock, BTW!) with the same "standard" format for the layout as with the rest of the series.

Obviously when I designed this I was feeling pretty banged up after surgery and so how I was feeling at the time is pretty well represented here, LOL!
The good news is the actual recovery has been going great and PT has helped me gain back nearly all of my mobility and strength since going under the knife.
Still have a ways to go and it will be a while yet til I even attempt to skateboard or do any "high risk" activities again but my daily functionality is more or less a-OK.
For anyone curious, this is basically what my arm looks like now. I made it B&W just to address those who may be squeamish among us.



I'm so grateful I didn't have a cast! The removable brace made a big difference in being able to heal at my own pace and start building muscles back.
I'm seeing my Physical Therapist in a few here on my lunch break and later my surgeon to get a 2 month post op eval.

Pro-Designed for $70 or Smith Scabs "Pro Wrist Stabilizers" for $32...?

Thinking that with the costs I've incurred from the surgery, the extra 38 bucks is probably a wise decision for the PD guards.

I fucking HATE wearing wrist guards, though! Guess I'll have to get over that pretty quick if I really expect to skate much ever again.

Oh yeah i’m going!It’s fun without a doubt.Not sure what determined it being on a Thursday this yr and in LA but oh well.Last yr it was on a Friday and in Anaheim.The Vans “Combi Bowl” classic event was the day after(Saturday)but i’m not sure about this yr.

 

If I go I would take the train up from Solana Beach. Only thing is I would need to leave before the last train departs... (around 10:00 PM)...

 

Good call on the train.I think last yr the actual inductee awards ended at 10 but the event was until midnight.I was still there chatting with legends and taking pics.

 

Yeah... the eventbright website shows the scheduled close of ceremonies at 10:30... likely to go a bit later since that's what happens at these things. Hmm... guess the train idea won't work.

 

Well let me know what you decide on.Depending on your schedule you are welcome to roll with me and crash out at the house instead of driving back to SD that night.
