I had skated Upland in the summers from around 84-87 and watched those guys many times. Fun to see old vids. Hosoi's style on big vert really did shine even a lot more than what video can capture.

Get whatever you like. Who cares what other people think.
But if you never skated before her some slower wheels. It still hurts when you fall.

that should do the trick as a great first board. Pick up some riser pads as well to compare wheelbite. Softer wheels will wheelbite (make contact with deck and stop you) a little harsher than hard wheels

anybody hear have a unlimited loaded board? I want to know if the remote lets you brake or one would have to foot brake? I have the longboard just thinking about buying a solo motor.

I checked one out. You thumb the throttle backwards to brake and can adjust the braking effect. After riding it a bit my thoughts were that it would be good for quicker distance commuting and the extra weight didn't affect riding as much as I expected. Overall the solo motor looked well-made in person.

Just arrived...From McGills Skateshop no less. I've never owned a McGill deck. He's cool and humble though...answered the phone when I returned their call about my order being ready to ship.

    Bump...

Been a while since I have seen activity on this one! Recently went to London for business. Having not skated in literally a year, (been riding a ton of BMX mtb and MX) I decided to to throw a board in my checked bag! Ended up doing 2 skate days going to skate Southbank, White Grounds, The Hop Kingdom, and Mile End. Met some of the raddest dudes there! Southbank.... the tricks that have been done there defy logic... It was WAY gnarlier than I ever imagined and was so cool to skate a spot well over 40 years old like that that has been in so many iconic parts! The banks are so steep and the little QP is straight vert.... I put a small edit on my instagram although I did not film much or push the envelope on doing anything crazy... not sure if the link will load.

    https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ck9cu1nMe5u/

Most importantly... the trip motivated me (especially skating Hop King) to build a brand new basement miniramp and try to progress forward! It is also something to shake the upcoming winter blues. This is my 5th version of the ramp and probably the last one! The only questionable thing I did on this version was PVC Coping simply cause my last ramp was soooo loud! So far I love it and it suffices for the purpose of an 8' wide mini since youre not rippin grinds across it anyways! I will be masoniting the outside of the ramp and doing art to decorate the exterior! I plan on getting back into it for 2023! If anyone is ever in the Chicagoland area, DM me and pop in for a session. Lets see some more skate posts!
