    2010 Taco 3" OME
    Hello TacomaWorld folks,

I have a 2010 4door TRD Tacoma with a Old Man Emu 2.5" lift. Originally, the suspension kit gave me about a 3" lift and has settled nicely over the past 6 years of daily driving and weekend off roading.

I am not a "rock crawler" but do take the truck into some gnarly terrain.

My OME schocks are near end-of-life, and I was curious what the forum memebers recomend for a replacement.

I called Bilstein, and they recomended a 5100 adjustable for a stock set-up (which I don't have because of the OME lift) or they recomended a Bilstein B8 6112,5160 set-up, but that is a lift system on it's own, hence my OME lift would be removed. Probably unnecesary.

The 5100 is a 48mm tube and the 6112 is a heavy duty 60mm tube, but come with coil-overs or some kind of spring set-up.

Here is my question, due to my lack of knowledge, I would like a heavy duty off-road replacement schock, but I don't necesarily want to remove the entire OME lift kit.

Any advice and/or suggestions are appreciated!

    Thank you,
    Desertoi...

If you don't want to replace the OME Kit ( the Coils up front ) then go with a set of 5100's.

If you decide to switch over to a big name brand coilover ( King, Fox, Icon etc...) you will 100% have to take off the OME front set up
