I think I've narrowed in on the OME 2 inch lift kit. I'm only looking for a inch or two of lift. Want something, but want to keep it one the lower end to reduce complications. And having messed around with adjustable coil overs in the past (but to lower cars), I like the set height.

How's the ride quality with this kit? I have the off-road and like the ride. If anything, I would like to stay in the same ballpark if not plusher.

I plan on getting rock sliders as soon as mobtown has their group buy soon. If I do a bumper, it will be a slimline one so won't have to compensate for much weight

I think it rides better but I had my topper on prior to my Dakar springs so the rear may ride a little stiffer than stock without anything. I have 885 springs but I don't think there would be much difference if you go with the 887 because they are the same spring rate.

All in all I think it rides smoother.

I'm interested in the same setup. On the ARB website, it has a kit for stock weight. For that one, they take out a leaf from the Dakars. That is the one I think I would get, but like you OP, I like the ride of the stock off-road and wouldn't want it a whole lot stiffer.

I have that kit on 886 (Heavy kit) springs since I have an ARB bumper with a winch, and I carry a lot of weight on race weekends. When the bed is empty the rear is stiffer than stock but its exaggerated by my tire choice (unknowingly purchased an E-rated tire). I love this kit and would definitely recommend it but I'd call ARB if you have questions over the correct springs. They were very helpful when I was deciding what route to go. I could have gone softer in the rear but I'd rather deal with the stiffer ride when empty than to be bottoming out when loaded down and off-road. I also plan to add a high clearance rear bumper and some skid plates which will help the ride quality when the bed is empty.

Everything you need is included in the kit including the drivers side trim packer to account for the Taco lean. I installed the diff drop spacer but some on here choose not to. You don't need new upper control arms either. I was able to get it aligned without issue and it drives great. I have no complaints and it gave me more lift than I was expecting so that was a nice plus.

I completely recommend the OME kit. I have a full OME kit, 888 coils and dakars in the rear with Camburg UCA's. It rides better than stock, in my opinion it's a night and day difference.

Do you think it would have been ok without the new UCAs? Thanks.

They are fine without aftermarket UCAs. Alignment will be trial and error - shoot for positive caster at the same time trying to get camber as close to 0.

Also, when you lift with OME (and other lifts), your stance gets narrower. A friend of mine had the same lift but with 285s with stock wheels. The tires rubbed the UCAs, fixed with SCS wheels

From a friend who had the kit, the fronts ride great but the rears are stiff. I'm thinking about doing just OME fronts paired with fox 2.0s in the rear.

The valving is pretty soft, if you want that cadillac ride quality, but a ton of body roll, squat and dive.

I'm also considering the bilstein 6112s which cost more, but are a lot beefier. The main difference though is that the bilsteins are digressive (like icons) versus progressive.

I believe the dakar pack initially. But this was for a 1st gen. Now he has a custom chevy leaf suspension paired with fox shocks.

I'm running the full OME/Dakar with 888 front coils with 1/4" spacer on driver side and there soft ride shocks. Front side to side are perfectly level. Front to rear has 1" rake with an ARE topper. I also went with SPC uppers just for piece of mind knowing the alignment is dead nuts on. Compared to stock the ride is SO much better. Check pricing between Headstrong Offroad and Low range offroad.
Both excellent company's to deal with.

I went with headstrong, free shipping. There's no diff drop spacer but they include the spacer for lean. It also comes with a carrier bearing drop spacer. Diff drop is not needed. Basically repeating what roth_nj said haha.

What do you mean by so much better? More plush? Better handling? From what I understand it will ride softer, but will have more body roll, squat and dive during on-road driving.

I wouldn't say more plush just a firmer ride. Cornering is solid. Not a sports car by any means it just has a nice planted ride to it. Spacers and 285 E's contribute to that also I'm sure. I live in the mountains and drive the twisties every day. No complaints
