The 2" looks level so the 1.5 to 2" amount should work fine and you won't have to spend money on the rear unless you want new shocks (which might not be a bad idea if those are the originals). I don't know much about the 3rd gen OR springs so I can't really comment on the lift you would really get. But if you did come up a little short of 1.5", you could always add the small trim packer to give an extra 3/8-1/2" of lift and it shouldn't affect the ride much at all. My truck actually had close to 4" up front when I got it and I found 1/2" spacers up front and removed them. My truck was measuring over 24" but it's now closer to 23-1/2" with the 885 springs.

    Here's the OME lift specs.

Also, do a search on the 883 springs, I think that is what you would want if you don't go with the 3rd gen OR. Here's a couple of guys who got 1.5" of lift from the 883 springs.

Hello. I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma double cab V6 and I am looking to get the old man emu lift kit installed with Dakar’s in the rear. The shop
I am doing it through said that they refuse to put in top plate spacer to achieve the full 3inches. How much lift do you think I can achieve without that? I would like to mention that I am getting the soft ride 90021 and 885 struts. Also with the Dakar’s do you think I will achieve a level look? Even tho I have a cap on a short bed? I’m just looking for some insights on what I should be expecting.

I just got this exact kit for my 07' Double Cab short bed with Leer shell, i'm not sure if its coming with 884 or 885's since the site doesn't specify when i went back to look, it just made claim it was 2" lift across the board and i got the Sport Medium duty not the Heavy Load. Waiting for it to arrive and then i will put it on and post pictures ASAP

Long time lurker for over a year first post now

I have the full OME kit on my 2009 DCLB TRD Sport with:

    Nitrochargers
    884 coils in front
EL112R Dakar leafs in the back.

this setting gives me a significant amount of rake, roughly 3” difference front to back, with ~22” hub to fender in front and ~25” in the back translating into 2” lift front and 3” in the back.

As of now the truck has a prinsu roof rack and roof top tent and aluminium rack. With a bumper in the making and full aluminium skid plates and steel rock sliders to be added, I’m switching over to 886 coils soon.

aside from that I love the setup, no issues at all. Had some initial squeaks from the leafs but they’re pretty much gone, not the same issues like everyone reported with the 095/096R Dakars.

A stock taco is sitting around 20”/22” with a factory rake of 2”, therefore right now the rake is even more extreme which I absolutely don’t like. The new coils should give me some form of levelling, so we’ll see. I should note that for some reason, no matter how heavy the load in the back is, the leafs don’t sag at all and always sit at 3”

If you like more details, let me know.

Hello everyone, I just ordered my lift kit and was looking for some input. Is there anything you guys would recommend me doing differently? and Is there anything you would recommend that I know before I install it? also thoughts on the 1/4 inch spacer? and last question how much lift do you think I will achieve front and back on my 2006 tacoma double short bed cab 4x4 with a topper and no other added weight other than about 150lbs of tools in the bed.
