Hey guys, I need some advice about my suspension. I've searched around the forums and read many pages haven't seen anything that addresses what I need.

Current configuration: 2002 Xtracab 4x4 TRD with 265/75/16 tires and an ARB bumper/Warn winch on the front. Camper shell with add-a-leaf in the rear.

I put OME 883 shocks/springs on the front about 50k miles ago. When I first put them on I thought the truck was too tall for my taste but thought it would sag after a while but it really hasn't. My buddy has a stock 1st gen TRD and I like his truck's stance more than mine. I still have to support the weight of my winch/bumper so looking for advice.

I'm not looking to move to larger tires so this amount of lift isn't really doing anything for me. I'm actually losing ground clearance with this dumb diff drop I have to run.

So anyways, my goal is to support my winch/bumper, remove front diff drop, fill my wheel wells as much as possible with 265/75/16 with the least amount of lift.

Anyone know if swapping to OME 881 springs would achieve this? Something else? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

Look at what OME has for spring height and weight. That will help you determine if switching the springs is going to give you your desired results. I would say that the 881 spring will get you much closer to what you desire rather than the 883 spring.

Thanks, I've checked out the specs but it's difficult to figure out exactly how much lift I will lose based on the weight that the springs support. I just ordered 881 springs and will report back on how the lift changes in case anyone is interested.

Could always call ARB USA and talk with tech support. Tell them what you got, how much lift you have, and how much lift you actually want. They should have it down pretty close.

    I had a 03 extra cab, v6. I ran 881s with 265/75/16s. I had a plate bumper with a 8k winch. I was very happy with the set up.

I have 881s and after settling I've got barely over 1" of lift out of them with NO weight added in the front. If you have weight, stay with the 883s. The 881s are only 500lb springs, not much better than stock and are not recommended for added weight. The 883s are 590lbs and meant for the weight of a bumper, winch, skids, etc. In hindsight I really wish I had gone with the 883s.

Basically it sounds like you want heavy duty springs without the lift that comes with the OME version. I'd look into Eibach or another spring manufacturer and see what they offer; something with a spring rate of +/- 600lbs is what you want for added weight (if you have a v6, if you have a 4cyl then you could probably get away with the 881s and added weight).
