ome 884 or 885?

    v6 access cab, manual tranny...no added weight up front...should i go 884 or 885? only reason i ask is b/c i've heard of the 884's sagging on tacos with time, where as the 885 and/or 886 hold their own? i also plan on putting a replacement alcan or deaver progressive leaf pack in the rear for roughly a 1-1/2" lift? im looking for 2 1/2 to 3, closer to 3" in the front.

    i'd go w/ the 885's to be on the safe side. it might ride a tad stiffer in the front w/o the extra weight, but u also shouldnt have the sagging issue

    i know chris would def have the answer...but do you think id get over 3" of lift b/c of the access cab?

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    I think the 884's are the way to go. OME had some sagging issues accross the board a while back. Last time I have talked to them, they assured me they had things straightened out. I ordered my 885's and they have only saged 1/4". They gave 3" after settleing. Give the 884's a try. If they sag too much OME will replace them. :)
    FWIW, the 885'sa re longer and should be used with a OME shock and Aftermarket UCA, IMHO. :D

    I'd go with the 884 seeing as how you have the extended cab. My 884 barley sag, and this was before toytec was aware of the problem, as per chris it has been taking care of.

    thanks for the replies guys. do you recommend the diff drop if i go 2 1/2" or so w/the 884? also, i know aftermarket uca's will help, but are they necc?

    I went 3" and to save trouble I purchased the diff drops and installed them. There are a few guys on here that don't have them and are pushing their trucks to the limits and aren't experiencing any troubles. They are cheap and easy to install you could always go without and if you start to experience any trouble get them. Here is a pic of mine not as high tech as you would think. Some people are just using washers to achieve the same affect.
