Just researched curb weight on cars.com

    V6 Prerunner Access Cab: 3715lbs
    V6 4x4 Access Cab: 3950lbs
    V6 4x4 DCSB: 4035lbs

So there is a 200-300lbs difference between those models that is pretty much on the front end.

    V6 4x4 DCLB 4100lbs.

Speaking of curbweight, anybody actually weigh their Tacomas? I weighed mine empty once when it was still new to me. Had the bull bar, toolbox, black wheels, and factory sized p-rated michelin AT's and it weighed just over 4800lbs. I know that bullbar and toolbox don't weigh 700lbs so I don't know how accurate curb weight is.

No driver but full tank of fuel I believe. With me in it, it weighed 5020lbs and I weigh about 180lbs. Scale measures in 20lbs increments.

Curb weight (US English) or kerb weight (UK English) is the total weight of a vehicle with standard equipment, all necessary operating consumables (e.g., motor oil and coolant), a full tank of fuel, while not loaded with either passengers or cargo.

    There we have it

So it says standard model for curb weight and my numbers were for a 2005 which didn't have side curtain airbags or traction control standard, which I do have, plus the JBL sub and amp and I think I had the roofrack on at the time (although it only weighs about 20-30 lbs IIRC).

    2011 V6 Prerunner Access cab weighs 3835lbs
    2011 V6 4x4 Access cab weighs 4045lbs
    2011 V6 4x4 DCSB weighs 4130lbs
    2011 V6 4x4 DCLB weighs 4190lbs

I tried to go bottom out my front end today to see if I could get it to bang but the 886's have to much spring rate I guess. I hit some good sized bumps in a parking lot at about 20mph and it just kind of soaks them up without bottoming out. When I jump my tacoma they bottom out but there are too many other noises going on to notice of the front end is making a bang sound.

I thought the " over speed bump goes clank " noise was being blamed on the shocks topping out , not bottoming out , no ?

Yeah... I mixed that up a little... haha Maybe I need to hit the speed bumps a little slower to give the coils time to bounce me up maybe?:notsure: I'm leaning towards you being too light for the 885's then.

I think the issue is access cab vs DC but 4x4 vs Pre-runner. 4x4 have an extra 200lbs almost right on the front end.

I have this exact same issue but running 885 w/OME shocks on a v6 dcsb no sway bar and shocks were assembled by toytec. It doesn't happen on big long speed bumps but more so on short speed bumps. Also offroad, the way I drive it clunks like no other really Fing annoying. I doubt it has anything to do with the shock topping out or overcompressing but you may be on to some thing when you put grease and the clunk went away I think that kinda identifies where the sound is coming from... Idk ill take a look after work

Yes exactly! It's the short older style speed bumps. The new long ones are fine. I would hit those at like 35 and no clunk.

There's a reason going with new shocks and springs is a better lift than spacers and blocks:cool: at an albertsons near me they have some like 3 mph speed bumps in the Parking lot. 2 of them are at the back of the parking lot and I have no problem hitting them at 20+, there's a little bump but not bad. I could hit them faster if I had more space and the parking lot was completely empty, don't want to hit somebody.
