    ^^this.

I have Eibach coils (stiffer than OME) and 5100's my truck glides smoothly over speed bumps at 15 mph. That 1"+ of extension is the difference.

IMO, the shock could brake the internal weld which functions as a stop, in which case the shock could extend too far and blow a seal. If that happens, shock will leak oil and then you call ARB for warranty replacement.

Good to know. Just so I have a frame of reference, how much lift over stock did your eibachs provide?

Model number would be good, I can look up specs... Thx

FWIW, I had my frame replaced a while back due to rust. Along with the frame, they also replaced a lot of suspension parts up front, ie. Lower control arms, lower ball joints, etc. My truck was lifted prior to the replacement with 885x coils and nitrocharger shocks. Before the frame replacement, my truck rode like crap, and made the same loud clunks as OP describes. After i got it back, everything feels so much tighter, and the clunks over bumps are gone. My aftermarket suspension was put back on the same as it came off. I agree with most posts in this thread about OME being stiff and riding rough, but I think new LCAs and LBJs made a huge difference. 140k miles on the truck.

With 7200 miles on the truck I sure hope the only wear is on the tires

This is bizarre. I just did the OME 887 coils up front with OME shocks. I go over a speed bump at work twice a day. The only thing I hear is a squeaking that started after I went up a forest service road a couple hundred miles ago. But I hear that over any bump.

And honestly I don't think it feels all that rough going over speed bumps either... Whether I creep or do 15mph it feels fine to me.

Do you have any additional weight up front?

Not yet. Unless you count my subwoofer box behind the rear seat. And the dealer set my tire pressure at like 36psi. So in theory I should be as rough as it gets.

Have skids on order but obviously not on the truck yet.

Its simply the shocks topping out hard, or the UCA / swaybar hitting the coils. Droop the suspension out with a floor jack and see if anything is hitting.

I know my 5100's n stock coils at 1.75 top out relatively hard, but its in part to the UCA hitting coils. (swaybar is long gone)

If i am not mistaken (and correct me if i am wrong) the OME stuff is a gas emulshion type of shock.... no separate floating piston to separate oil n gas.

5100's do have separate chambers with a floating piston. This allows better oil control and depending on how the shock is made you can make sections with more or less dampening rather easy.

I was planning on doing an OME lift next month, but now I may get Fox or Icon instead...

It barely has any droop and nothing is hitting, acts like the shocks are too short.

Just got my OME kit in the mail the other day, kinda wish I knew about this a few weeks ago. I'm gonna install it anyway. Definitely can't be as bad as my stock suspension with the spacer and rear block...

You said 885's , trim packer and 1/2" spacers in the OP , are you over 3" of lift ?
