    i went to desert rat 4x4 today to ask about a lift. just when i was set on the billies at .85 and eibachs, the sales guy reccommended billies at 0 and 885's. he said this would get me 3'' of lift without a spacer. is this true? i thought the OME's needed a top plate for the full 3''...

    You will probably get the full 3" in an AC .

    The 885's are intended for DC's .

    Correct. The 885's should give 3" with no spacers..

    thanks guys, i appreciate the response. now the question is what to do about the back. i'd rather not shell out the $500 for a custom alcan 2.5" leaf pack, but i dont think the 2" AAL i had originally planned on will be enough to level with the 3" in front.

    ideas?

    edit: ALL are helpful. rep all around, for sure.

    how is your 2" AAL? does it lift the back enough to compensate for the 3" up front?

    DSM has a nice Icon 3 leaf AAL for $180.00. Its a 1.5" lift, but you remove your over load leaf. Otherwise, your only choice is an AAL. 1.5" to 2" should be fine with the 885's up front. Measure the difference in height between the front and rear to see how much lift you would need in the rear.

    so i just went out and measured and im about 2" taller in the rear (30'' front, 32'' rear)...that seems kinda high for a non tsb in the rear to me, though (wondering if im measuring right). either way, i think im going to do the 885's and 2" AAL. with those, hopefully ill be about an inch higher in the back still (which should look level, but have a tiny bit of rake), just like you Scott.

    this sound accurate guys?
