i have a 05 double cab with the long bed and i plan on getting a steel plate front bumper so i figured the 886? coil would be the best correct? and also what is the best shock to use with with the most down travel? i stupidly purchased a spacer lift and now i want to do the front suspension right with out forking over $1000+ on coilovers...

(old truck 2008 AC ....PIAA fogs, led "puddle" lights, bed lights, in cab 115V, Toyota Devil emblem, Randy Ellis light bar with LED light bar, OME 885 and Dakar leaf springs OME shock all round, 2.5 Gal OBA system with air horns, iPod adapter, scangauge on blend mount, magnaflow catback, bike fork mounts, tinted 2009 tails.)
couple options. 886 with OME shocks and the extra top plate spacer wheelers has OR 886 with 5100s set NO HIGHER than .75" this will make the front end stiffer than the all OME setup.

and your down travel is going to be limited more by your Upper Control Arms and CV joint angle.

slightly but upper control arms are more so you can get a perfect alignment. If you're looking for downtravel you're going to be looking at Long travel but that is $$$. I've got 885 with OME shocks and I haven't lifted a front wheel doing the light wheeling i do.

From what I've read the 886 coils should already give you about 3" or higher.

I think most people would recommend the OME shocks if you're going with OME springs. Some on here have OME springs + Bilsteins.

I thought everyone rubs even with 3 inches. I thought it was a given that we had trim no matter what with 33 inches. I could be wrong though.

    Bump for better help.

well i would say assemble the 886 coils with the longer top plate bolts and install them if your itching to get them on. It will be stiff but won't be so high that you kill your cv joints and whatnot. then when you get your bumper it should cause the front end to sag all you will need to do it undo three nuts install the top plate spacer and you're done. It is really really important that you install the longer studs when you assemble them otherwise there is not enough thread to install the top plate later.

Yeah if you are going to be running 33"s on a 2.5"-3" lift you will have to do some trimming but only up front. The rear does just fine. You will also have to remove the front mud guards as well. I have OME 885 coils w/top plate spacer and 5100's set at 0" height and its a full 3"s of lift. If not, its just barely under 3" cause its settled by now. I also have 33" tires and had to trim up front but it wasnt hard at all.

Yeah you should be just fine with that setup unless you want to go with a full coilover kit.

Go check toyteclifts.com and you should be able to get some prices from there.;)

are those leeper 500 buck coilovers considered a a full coilover kit? or what else would be needed with those. because what i can see it looks like they will both ond up bein bout the same price. will the coilovers sag more in the front with the steel bumper?

nice thing about coil overs is you can just crank them up top prevent sagging you can probably even get new springs if you wanted to.
