Same set up I have minus the winch. Havent made the purchase yet (plus I have an icon AAL)
Ride is a little stiff but I'm good with it.

I had 5100's with 885's. After the US offroad low pro bumper with winch (steel cable), the front started to sag more. The ride was still nice and comfortable. I changed over to 886 springs and while the height is great and where I want it (higher than the 885's ever were even with stock bumper), the ride is much more stiff. But its not soo stiff as to be a bad ride in my opinion. My winch and bumper combo probably weigh less than others on the site though.

Some of you guys who have the 5100 paired with Ome 886 coil should specify what generation Tacoma you are referring to because I get a sense that everyone is talking about a different year and it is different for each generation with weight and all.

I want to know the ride quality in reference to 5100 and 887, which is what I have with a Deaver add a leaf. For this setup it feels too squishy for my liking. I lost height after it settle so I moved it up to second notch, which gave me more height. I am sitting at 23 hub to fender up front and 23.5 in back. FYI, I am using the Bilstein 5100 for 3rd gen Tacoma which the second notch is measured at 0.65 inches. It feels slightly stiff after moving it up a notch but in a good way. A few months in and it started feeling squishy again. I later purchase and installed a trd skid plate which made my ride feel more stable and more stiff. It did seemed like it sagged a little with the weight of the skid plate. What I am afraid now is coil bind. I also have a 2019 Trd offroad double cab long bed. I want to upgrade to the 886 coils to maintain my lift and be able to handle weight up front. I will be getting sliders and roof rack in the future. I don't rock crawl or do heavy off-roading. I just want to know how the 886 ride on roads and light off-roading. Please share your experience, thank you in advance.

I actually have a set of 886's for sale, they were on my 2013 Tacoma BAJA dcsb with a steel Demello winch bumper and 12.5k lb winch with steel cable. I had 3" lift set at zero. It rode firm, not harse but that's also because I had 285 75 16 load range e tires on it. I lowered it back down to 2" with the 887's and went back to 265 75 16's because I tow and haul daily. Let me know if you'd be interested in buying the 886's, they are just sitting in my garage. $120 for the 886's. Only 10k street miles on them.

Did it feel bouncy at all or just more stable with the 886? After putting some weight in back of my truck the vehicle feels more balance and I like it more now. I might stick to the 887 with more weight and see how it feels. If it sags more I'll end up buying the 886. I already have some sliders that I am going to be putting on and hopefully it doesn't feel too squishy but more planted and stable. As of now with weight in the back it feels good.

With the added weight of sliders and other gear they'll feel alot softer and lose height. I've helped build a couple different 2nd and 3rd gens over the years.

Do you recall how much lift did you lose or how high was it after all the weight with the 886. I think after installing my sliders with my trd skid plate it drop my front more. It seems like I have around 2- 2.5 of lift. It could be less than 2.5. Again I'm running on 3rd gen 5100 ome 887 coils on second notch (0.65). It feels more planted and stable just as I suspected. The ride did get more stiff as in going over bumps and all. The freeway ride is better now haven't gone offroad with this new set up. I hope I won't have issues.

Update for anyone interested in reading and getting more information on these suspension kits.

I recently took my truck offroad just doing light offroading nothing like rock crawling or anything, it actually rode fine but I feel like the coils aren't supporting the weight of the truck. Having weight and setting the 5100 to second notch the coil still feels like it's being pushed down more with the slider and skid plate. I have lost lift due to weight and rubbing when before I didn't, just a little on the cab mount while backing up. I'm just afraid of coil bind, so I'm swapping out the coils to 886 and setting it back to zero. I hope these coils won't be too stiff with this set up.

    Yours may be pretty stiff.
If you are thinking a front bumper in the future the 886 will be good. I don’t have sliders but I have a front bumper and that wasn’t enough. Rode a little better when I got my skid plate.
set the 5100s to zero for sure

    here is mine.

Your truck looks amazing. I was wondering that since my longbed is heavier with the added weight I have now, it should be enough. But if you say it will be stiff, I wonder how the ride will be. I don't mind stiff but depends on how you define stiff in your own terms. Is it more firm or is it harsh? My explanation of harsh is when you go over a small pothole you can feel the hit of the impact and your truck will shake a little, that's harsh for me. My explanation of firm is when you go over the pothole you feel the hit but it absorb the impact better and there's no shake in the cabin. My set up with the 887 somewhat absorb the pot hole but it's on the firmer side, so it does feel rough on dirt road with potholes and you can hear your tires hit the potholes. This is also running the tires at 34-36psi. So if the 886 feels the same as my 2nd notch 887, I don't mind it as long as I get my lift back and no more rubbing.

What is your front bumper? And what size tires are you running?

    Thank you!
Yeah I would say it’s not harsh.
    Front bumper is Bruteforce hybrid
And im on 285/70/17 falken tires

I went 886 due to knowing I was going to add some weight little by little. Heard too much about 887 & 888 sagging over time

Update: I recently installed the 886 coils along with my 5100 and wow it was a world of difference. I notice it was more smoother than my 887 on second notch. I got my height back due to my 887 sagging tremendously. I got about 2.5 all around so my truck sits level now. If anyone is on the sideline to see if its a good combo or not I say go for it, so far it's holding up but only time will tell.

I installed the bilstein 5100, OME 888 w/ 1/4 spacer on driver side, and Deaver AAL about 2 months ago. Initially got about 2.5-2.75. Now, the front has sagged about .5 so I am switching to the 886 springs. No weight up front. Hoping to get 3 in.

How has the ride been? I’m planning to do the same and put in the 886’s with no weight up front to get height back

I got ~3.5" with the 886 with a steel bumper and they never sagged.

Oh ok. I was actually thinking about adding a 1/2 spacer in the driver side and moving the 1/4 to the pass. side to try to get to 3.5 in. CV angles looked good at 2.75 in. so I figured I could fit them in.

But now I may not need to.. hmmm

I don't know the amount of lift I have but here's 5100's with 886’s and a low pro bumper with a winch in the front, jba uca's, and ome Dakars in the rear.
    Tires are 265 70 17.

5100 with 886 springs is the way to go.
no sag and can handle the extra weight
(Just replaced my rear 5160s because they were blown, replaced with kings) handles the smart cap and a fully loaded bed very well

Since my last installation of my 886 coils I have not had a problem whatsoever. It could be kinda harsh riding over bumpy road but not so bad. In my opinion the rebound isn't the best but it's not bad. If I have full passenger in the cab with loaded gears the coils seems to soften up and actually rides better. Other than that no weight upfront just sliders, trd skid and roofrack. I haven't got the time to take it offroading but so far it's been holding up quite well. I have no issues and so far it has not sag on me.
