I guess the reason Im asking is that i Want more of a lift and once its settled might be able to still stay at or about 3" of lift. I really want to do a 6" lift but there are way to many negatives and in order to do it right without repercussions it costs a fortune.

ive been reading through these answers to his questions and i am in the same boat as him, and ive read some great answers but one that im still wondering about is the extended break lines.
would extended break lines be needed in the rear if you are putting 5100's back there along with...lets say a dakar leaf pack?
and what about 5100's with only an AAL?

I just spoke to Marie from Head Strong and she said

"In the rear the OME nitrochareger sport 60091 is valved for the use of the leaf pack but can limit the droop from the pack. Due to its extended and collapsed lengths it would not require longer rear brake lines or bump stop modifications. The RCD/Bilstein 5100 rear shock will require longer brake lines and you should cycle the suspension to make sure you hit the factory bumps before you fully collapse the shock. If you don't then you will need to modify your bumps."

I'm not really sure about the leaf recal but Around the beginning of May is when I was told that I'm getting my frame replaced and with that they are replacing the frame, leaf packs, ucas, LCAs, break lines, bolts and other stuff I can't remember.

So I've had the 887/bilstein combo with a single Headstrong AAL on my truck since early July ish.

I did not get aftermarket UCAs. Dealer said alignment is perfect, but I know it is not. It is not really bad or anything, but it is not perfect. It's sort of hard to describe, but there is just a slight shakiness in the steering. It doesn't bother me enough to get UCAs, so I'll live with it until I'm rich and famous. If you're really anal about ride quality and smoothness, definitely get UCAs.

When the lift was first installed, the truck sat perfectly level, but it sort of looked nose high. Level is exactly what I was hoping for, but once I saw it, I didn't really like it. Now, there is a noticeable rake, probably a difference of about a half inch from front to back, though I have not measured. I like this look A LOT more. In my research phase I was so worried about the nose not being lifted enough, but now I'm really glad it settled like it did. IMO it has the perfect stance now with the slight rake. Also, I do not have any extra weight or armor.

I got the single AAL because I rarely tow heavy stuff. So far it is holding up fine, not sagging like I have heard they do.

So far I haven't had any issues with anything. Rides great and looks great. I'm really pleased with my purchase.

Hope this helps anybody who is on the fence about this kit. I love mine.

@VandalTaco thank for that I'll probably go with the AAL when I do my upgrades.

Also you should consider getting your tires road force balanced. Might take away that shake in the steering wheel you're talking about.
    It usually works for me

My 887's on 5100's will be up for sale soon if anyone is interested. They have about 6,000 miles on them and the forum knows my Mall Krawling Princess barely goes over leaves. :D

another question for all of you and hopefully this is the last one...would i need extended rear shocks if i get an AAL that adds 2" in the rear?
on 4wheelparts its says that a shock with longer travel is needed. would bilstein 5100's suffice for 2 inches or would i need the bilstein 5125?

    thanks TW gods

Just got done reading through this entire thread. I've got a 2011 DCLB. I'm leaning towards 5100's/887 up front. Is it necessary to get the LR UCA and not have to worry about alignment issues? Also I'll be putting a cap on in the near future and don't want to have a sagging back end. Thoughts on what to do on the back end? I'll more than likely pick it all up from Headstrong. Just need to decide on what to do on the back end. Thanks in advance.

I have the 5100s with 887s along with the SPC LR ucas, had no problems getting it aligned. If you don't want to have to wonder if you'll have alignment issues, save yourself some piece of mind and just get them, it won't hurt.

I'm sure he just wants to save money. But I've also heard of people getting into specs without LR UCAS. But personally I wouldn't take the chance because anything over 2" is usually when you need aftermarket UCAS.

Thanks. I'll go with the LR UCA for added peace of mind.
