Do you think you could do 276/70/18?

If you mean 275/70/r18, I think you can. @TegoTaco runs that size tires but he is using 5100s with the preload at 2.5 to get his lift, not the 887 coils as discussed here.

Correct! You’ll have a tad bit more room with the 887 coils since it’s a 3” lift.

Whenever someone mentions 18in rims, I automatically think of your truck. Love those OEM BBS rims on your rig!

The coils themselves are not side specific. If the trim spacer is used, then yes, the strut with the spacer needs to go on the driver side.

OEM (original Equipment Manufacturer) are left/right side specific.

OME (Old Man Emu) coils along with most all other aftermarket coils are not.

The same thing is true for the rear end. Aside from some of the first gen options the 2nd and 3rd lift options are not side specific either.

Thanks a lot! Believe it or not, I’m thinking of getting rid of them for something different but at the same time I don’t want to, they’re rare.

If shipping from the great white North wouldn't kill the deal, I'd almost make an offer lol you don't see them often, especially for sale.

for what its worth the 275/70/18 is almost identical in height to a 285/70/17, its like 1/2'' taller and just an inch narrower. I cant remember what makes the rubbing diff, if its the height of the width lol its been a long day

yeah nothing wrong with that, I was more passing along the info cuz most people are running the 285/70/17 which requires a little :sawzall: and the 275/70/18 is not much different. like I said its just 1 inch narrower but it is also 1/2 taller so it might need as much cutting as a 285/70/18. just to give you an idea of fitment differences between the two

its really hard to say man, every one has different out comes, but I am also thinking of 2nd gens. I think @Joe23 would know more about tire fitment since he has a 3rd gen and has looked into it a little more. you might be lucky since the tire is a little skinnier which may be in your favour, but tire fitment from 2nd gen to 3rd gen is a little different from what I have read.

275 will usually fit with a slight lift if you don't wheel and you don't go full lock with some speed .

Otherwise it will hit body mount.
With the 275 as with 285 though you also need to be careful with back spacing as 275 could hit UCA as well.

I'm really not sure what to tell him because numerous people have told him what would work best and what would be a good set up to do .But each time he comes back trying to get someone to tell him that what he wants will work when it won't .

I mean if he plans on mall crawling it might work .But generally without lift and cutting you can't really run bigger than 265 75 16, 265 70 17 so an overall 31.5" tire.

Anything wider often rubs the body mount at full lock. That's why everyone just cuts it.

255 85 16 will fit a completly stock off road . But as soon as you change wheel or suspension it doesn't fit.

Once you wheel though it's completely different.
Besides 275 has a limited market. Better off just going with a full 33 at 285. Unless you just want to be bro and get ko2 lol

I personally would never wheel am 18"wheel with 33"tires. Not enough foot print and when aired down you're asking for a bent wheel .

    Fuck I hate that I have 17s wish I had 16s

well apparently according to the wheel calculator I linked before the 275/70/18 is a full 33'' as the 285/70/17 is actually a little smaller then 33

but yeah BS of the rims plays a big factor, not sure what he has as a BS on his aftermarket rims. and like u said, depends on what the truck will be used for haha u can fit bigger tires if all ur going to do is stay on the pavement. a lot of the threads a I read, everyone has different outcomes, some people had to CMC others didn't, even running the exact same stuff haha even the alignment can make a difference lol

Alignment is the major factor. Caster way up will get you the clearance but it's not always possible to get it right on unless you have adjustable UCA.

If you're actually going to wheel I'd seriously suggest staying away from a 18" cause aired down you could damage easier.

It's hard to say for sure what will and will not fit going over 265.

And the tire calc thing is based on small tread I believe. Each company usually list what their overall tire measures.

From what I've heard some Toyo at 285 70 17 run much closer to a 34 actually.
The duratrac I'm getting are right on 33"
Ko2 runs slightly smaller than 33"

That's why I say just be ready to cut if it rubs.
