Fellas quick questions. I have a reg cab 2011 auto and putting an arb front bumper on and looking to upgrade shocks/lift. Someone near me is selling a lift that was used for 11k in under 1 year for 500 (can probably get them down to 400) and it includes this:

    Bilstein 5100 front p/n 24-263108
    Bilstein 5100 Rear p/n 24-188728
    Headstrong Offroad Extended U-Bolts
Headstrong Offroad 1/4" spacer for the Tacoma Lean p/n TT05514-TPS
    Maxtrac 1" cast lift blocks
ARB Old Man Emu lift coil springs p/n 2887
Strut mount kit (Top Hat assembly)

Does this look like a solid deal? Would it work well? Everything else on my truck is stock. Would you recommend stuff that’s been used over 10k? Thanks!

New to the forum! I love my 3rd gen and I just ordered the 887s and the 5100s, but I haven’t order UCAs yet. I won’t be doing any crazy off-roading, just weekend warrior. Do I need new UCAs? I heard the stock UCAs were designed for up to a 2” lift. For the back, I have the icon 1.5” aal and pairing with 5100s as well. But I’m not sure if I need to take the overload off or not... thanks in advance!

    Doing the exact same!
You can keep the overload in if you want it take it out. In you can carry more and I think give you a extra 1/2”

How do you like the icon progressive AAL? Was the install smooth and how's the ride? Any carrier bearing drop or shims?

Got them installed yesterday. Absolutely love it. The icon aal is time consuming to get them on for sure. The ride is slightly firmer than stock, not a huge difference. The truck is definitely leveled now. I didn’t have to use any bearing drop or shims. I took it out on the highway and got up to 80 and didn’t feel any vibration what so ever.

Hey cav- nice looking truck. I have 5100’s and Icon stage 3 in my garage about to install next week. I was debating on getting either 885’s or 887’s and do also. I see you left in your overload leaf. From the pic, it looks like you still have some rake, but not too much. A few questions- How’s the ride with the overload? Extra bouncy? Do you think it will be basically level with 887 and no overload? What are you noticing to need to replace the needle bearing? Thanks again!

Thanks man, appreciate the compliment. I'm not familiar with the Icon leafs, I have the OME medium duty leaf pack. Unloaded I do notice it being a little jumpy on speed bumps but not so much on bigger dips. Weight in the back definitely smooths things out, which is ultimately what I wanted. I plan on putting a cap on and will be loading it up for snowboard, mountain biking, and camping trips. I put a couple sand bags inside storage containers in the bed for daily driving around, it mimics the weight of a cap and I really like the way it rides.

Rake is pretty noticeable and there have been times where I wish that I went with 888s instead of 887s. But I was concerned with having to get UCAs and potential front drive-line issues. I expect that the rear leafs will settle eventually and I'll wait until I get the cap to see how that affects it. I figured that I'd rather deal with a little too much rake now, than deal with bro-lean when it's got some load in it.

Not sure how much lift you will get in the back with the Icon leafs, but the 885s give 1.75" in front on 0 setting and the 887s give 2.25". If I had gone with anything less than 887, my truck would have looked like a drag racer.

As for the needle bearing, I do notice a pulsing vibration in the 25-35 mph range. It's very subtle and I really only notice it on really smooth roads. Not 100% that is what it is, but it seems to be consistent with what I've read. I also did the carrier bearing drop/shims, so I don't think it's from the drive shaft.

    Hope this helps!
