O.K. I recently bought (have not arrived, yet) a set of OME 885's of a member. I also have a new set of 5100's. Since the ad for the 885's say they give 2" of lift, should I set my 5100's at .85" to stay close to my 2.5" of lift?? Or if I should I set the 5100's at 2.5", how do I go about this???

The OME's will give closer to 3" lift. Leave the shocks on the lower setting.

I was told the OME springs were redesigned a couple of years ago, and they now give the advertised lift. :)

The advertised lift is "2" inches. So, it is 2 or 3?? I e-mailed OME to get some further info.

Ok, so I will just leave my 5100's at the stock height, as Chris suggested? That will give me somewhere between 2.5-3" which is where I want to be. That is unless of course, the old ad is right and I get 2" of lift..............

Seems OME is giveing 2 stories. I was told that they changed the way they manufacture their springs, and that the springs are pre stressed (scragged) to eliminate sagging issues. Another story is that this has not happened, and they are still makeing the springs the same way.
My springs settled in and gave 3" lift. PackerfanXD's springs gave 3"+ lift. (both 885's). Rpoint16's 885's settled and gave him only 1.75" lift......Im thinking that OME HAS changed the way they make their springs, but there are still old stock floating around......

It says 2", so I would have to set the 5100's at .85 to get close to what I want.

I just looked at the All Pro leafs, there ad says "Not for weight carrying", have you hauled or towed anything with them. I am a little concerned about that.

I occassionally tow a horse trailer, so I don't know if those would hold up. Plus my shoeing gear (which I haul daily) is around 400 pounds. I would like the 3" set but I would hate to trash them if they can't hold up.

All Pro has their 4" leaf springs on sale for just under $300!!!!

Of course, the 3" that I want are listed at $319.

I am curious though, the ad says for towing you should add some type of assistance device such as bags or bump stops. I wonder if a set of Timbrens would make a difference when towing?

Yep. I contacted ALL Pro about the leaf packs, to see what the load capacity is. I like the 3" option and I LOVE the price BUT I do not want to buy them if they are gonna crap out when I tow.
