If you remove the link no over load it doesn't affect the capacity. Removing 3rd leaf from the top reduces capacity by 15%.

How does removing those two effect the amount of lift?

Removing overload you drop .5" removing 3rd leaf is also about.5" but more dependent on the weight of your truck.

So if arb says to do the 10mm to match the full dakar pack with no load on the front, I'm guessing to go down to 0 if i remove the overload spring?

Hello all! I just got my BP-51 kit installed yesterday...its sweet. Its been a long process that started out by getting my rear bumper smashed last october. My CBI rear swing is on order and should be ready in a couple weeks. I did this kit to account for the weight that would come from that, my Leer topper, and eventually a RTT... (as well as front bumper...electronics...all things that are on the "list.) But I was hoping to keep my stock wheels as I have already paid for them and try and fit 285/75r16 Tires. It seems like I am going to have issues rubbing with my stock UCA right off the bat. Any thoughts or suggestions?

My truck sat about 3/4” higher in the rear at 20mm preload and stock weight with the Dakar leafs.

Stupid question ... Is the rebound/compression adjustment only for the rear shocks and not the fronts? Close up pictures do not show the two adjusters for the fronts on the shock body or the reservoirs. My new fronts show up this week. I've followed this thread for some time so apologies if I missed it above.

Both my fronts started leaking just under 30k miles, Arb replaced both. I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that they have shortened the fronts by about 3/16" doesn't sound like much but this limited the wheel travel by about 3/4" which led to extremely harsh top outs. I was able to gain that back by lowering the preload and adding a spacer. Not sure why they shortened them but I wish they didn't.
Arb USA didn't even know about the change and said it happens often, the manufacturer changes a product and doesn't let them know about the change

Knowing what you now know...would you buy them again? If not, what would you consider as a suitable alternative?

If they didn't shorten them I would in a heartbeat, but now that they are shorter probably not. I will most likely go icon extended travel.
I'm assuming they shortened them do to possible over extending the factory upper control arm as they advertise they are compatible.

Is there a way to tell if someone has the shorter ones? Different part number?

How long are they supposed to last? I found that the foxes are supposed to be 50k, but couldn't find anything on the bp-51s. Figured ARB has a number since they replaced yours at 30k

Nope, same part number. I know off the build date from the sn the ones built in 16 were the longer ones and the ones in 17 were shorter.

I hate it when companies do that. There should be a different part number or a rev to easily identify products that have changes. I'd hate to have a mismatched set if you were cobbling a kit together from different sources or needed to just replace one.

    so mine have shipped...

im planing on removing the overload leaf in the rear, netting about 2-2.25" of lift

i would like to equal this amount of lift up front. i have no additional weight and dont plan to add any anytime soon.

Should i adjust the fronts to 0 or 5 mm?
