can we put an add a leaf in the rear if we want more lift? or is that gonna cause problems with the shock travel length?

The add a leaf if for support of weight. Bp's were designed to work at around 2" of lift. (slightly more for the rear). More than that and you will likely be topping out the shocks at every little bump.

Anyone know where to get the rubber material behind the remote reservoir that he has stretched? I tried to stretch mine to no avail. I would like to get some and cut mine larger. The guys at Auto Zone didn't have and had no idea where to source it from.

Are you talking about the splash guard for the engine bay?

They are sometimes called gap guards and wheel well aprons.
Most people seem to make their own.

Any idea what type material? I would assume it needs to be heat resistant?

    Hey all,

I just got Mountain State Overland's tacoma rig and live here in Denver! Its an amazing rig. Here is the link

    http://www.mountainstateoverland.com/tacoma/

It looks like mountain state overland had the following settings set up based on all of there gear they list on the link above:

    Compression 1 front 3 rear
    Rebound 3 front 3 rear

I felt the ride to roll quite a lot. I went Off-Road on some very rocky trails at slow speed (4-L, 2nd gear with 4.88 gears) and the ride rolled a ton side to side.

My questions is to all of you guys - based on a ride this heavy and this much gear, would you still expect an amazing ride quality out of this rig? What settings would you suggest I start at to get a better ride? Keep in mind they've put in upgraded springs as well.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.

I need a little input here please. So after installation of the BP-51 kit it had the dreaded taco lean on the drivers side. I didn't want to add more preload on the drivers side because it's already a little harsh with the 20mm setting from the factory and I like the amount of lift with 20mm so we opted to put in a 1/4" spacer on the drivers side, but it didn't fix the issue. I put in a call to ARB and found out there are side specific springs for this kit. He said that there will be a + or - symbol in parenthesis behind the model number. He suggested we check and make sure they the + is on the drivers and - on the passenger. We'll be checking this and I'll report back. Anyone else have this issue?

I have the same issues as you and have the same thought process as you. Kind of glad you mentioned that the spacer didn't fix the issue too. Was about to try adding a spacer to the driver side this summer.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
spacer won't fix an issue with adjustable coil overs. You have to have an offset of 6-7mm from driver to passenger to adjust for lean. If your ride height is where you want it, adjust the passenger side, if you want ride height higher, adjust driver side. If your maxed out, of course, adjust passenger.

Got mine back from alignment today. Camburg UCA and Dakar HD leaf pack. 20MM (factory setting) I have sliders, bumper, winch, some lights up front. Rear I got bedrack, rtt, full-size spare, hijack etc...
First impression leaving the shop, OMG I just wasted $3k. Ride was harsh, felt like shit. Remember reading how people made slight adjustments and all was saved, I’m thinking to myself BS! So I pull over, make 2 adjustments on rebound drive a few miles, I start to smirk, pull over adjust the rears a few adjustments, drive a few more miles. Now I got that shit eating grin. Make 1 more adjustment and it feels great. I will say that the rear is a little rough, but that’s to be expected with out a full size bumper and tire carrier ( on order) on the HD pack. I ended up3/4 of a inch high in the rear. But I prefer it that way. Overall seems like a good kit. Time will tell I guess. Read someone else’s post up a few. I agree the softer the ride gets the more roll there seems to be. But that was on street and nothing is broken in on my rig yet. And yes ECGS bearing is installed, carrier bearing drop installed. As of right now it doesn’t feel like I need shims. Let’s hope it stays that way. Truck is a toy, not a DD so IM looking for a 70/30 balance off-road / on road

Thanks to everyone’s who added info or experiences with this kit. It helped me a lot.

So what are you running for the compression and rebound, both front and rear? I have a similar setup and would like your input if possible.

I know there isn’t actual numbers, those are just aprox on that scale printed on the shocks.
